Arrow New Tp weopons/ gameplay

Hope fully this is new so im not just reapeting stuff but i found out some new stuff about the game This isn't rumurs its fairly real or nintendo is just fooling around with gameplay footage.

- the swirling blade technique is back +you can use it on your horse (but thats just pretty obvious)

- The lantern is back plus you can use it in normal gameplay

-The gale boomerang can hit more than 1 target like ww but it takes 2 seconds to for it to take aim (sorry if that doesn't make sense )

-You can use your sheild to parry the enemies attacks (Anyone played soulcalibur 2 because its like that)

- The item/weopan screen has items in a circle and the name in the of the item in the middle (so you can't see how many items you need left)

-The dungeons are called temples eg. forest temple

-The ape in the forest temple taunts you with his butt (had to add that)

-As we all know there is that down strike as we seen in the first trailer against the spider but that might be a finasher move that you have to use to kill an enemy eg prince of persia 1

-As you l-target the enemy if you press the z button it will give a hint about the enemy
eg navi/tatl

-The red potion is back woooooooooooooooo!

- You can name your horse (pretty old news)

So there you have it. I really do hope that all this stuff is new

- you have to finish each enemy with a 'finishing move'

I don't know about this one yet it could be great or get bit of boring when you have to finish of 20 stalfos in a room.

Re: New Tp weopons/ gameplay

Ugh! I don't like the idea of a finishing movie, sounds a bit tedious! >< Ah, well, I'll live.

Ooh, neat that the potions are back, I just really hope you can get faries. Faries are the most useful little buggers ever.

No, enemies can be destroyed with moves other than "finishing moves." The 30 minute gameplay footage merly used the "finishing attacks" to show how Nintendo has improved on them. If you notice there are times when Link just slashes the guy to death.

Other than that this thread has nothing new or anything interesting, however if any news is released on items and gameplay than this can be the place to put them.

Re: New Tp weopons/ gameplay

He probably knew that, he was just glad they didn't leave it out in tp. Oh, thank you Chozen. I was getting worried about the finishing move thiing. Sure it would be fun as hell the first couple of times, but doing that to every enemy, every single time!Arrgh! Then I remembered that in the second trailer, right at the end, link simply slashes that black forest monster thing to death. So thanks Chozen, you drove away my fears.

They haven't dropped it since they started it.

I like the idea of not knowing how many weapons you have left. It makes the game last longer that way.

Not quite. During the thirty minutes of gameplay footage, Eiji said that Link is actually more of a sheperd than a cowboy. They referred to him as a cowboy instead because not everyone knows what a sheperd is. In the translators exact words, "not everybody knows what sheperd means; we used "cowboy" because that's a much more familiar term."

Personally, I find this refreshing. I dislike my strong West Texan (Wexan, as some people call it) heritage.

Wow, he's right. Now that I think about it, though, its purpose did change in AoL. It was used as a power-up rather than a simple healing item. Basically, it took the place of heart containers.

I reiterate, the term "cowboy" is more familiar with people than "sheperd". They did not use the term "cowboy" out of ignorance; rather, they wanted to convey Link's occupation in a way that everyone would understand. I'm not sure that "cowboy" was the right way to go, though. I think they should have gone with sheperd, even though there are those who do not understand the term. Those who didn't could easily find out. A little hint, Nintendo: choose accuracy over familiarity. Not every American has the same image of a cowboy in their minds. *Rolls eyes* There are no Clint Eastwoods anymore.

Please refer to it by its proper name: the Spin Attack. Sorry, but I'm easily annoyed--at this moment, particularly so. I've had a bad morning, and it isn't going to get better.

Oh, and the finishing move (the one we've seen, at least) is called the Downward Thrust. It debuted in The Adventure of Link for the NES, and was invaluably useful. Its only appearances since then have been in SSB:M, FSA, and TWW. But in the latter, you could only use it against Magtails and Floor Masters.

Actually, that format was intended only for the playable demo. The Item Selection screen will change in the final version. Miyamoto says that they didn't want to give away the number of items (you can guess at what you have left by observing the bars that mark items with similar purposes) before the game was released, but he made it quite clear that the finished game will not have this odd system. Personally, I'm grateful. Despite the fact that such a system would make items easier and quicker to equip, I prefer the shapely, organized look.

Re: New Tp weopons/ gameplay

What really caught my interest was the way Link used his shield to stun the enimies, what buttons do we have to press for that action? As far as naming my horse goes; I'm thinking of either: Wiggles, Mr. Thombuss, Nesbit, or some other english name I can find.

Re: New Tp weopons/ gameplay

You don't have to do a "finishing move". It's only when enemies fall down (like the Lizafols in the beginning of the Forest Temple) but they can get back up and you can slash 'em to kill 'em.

Why do people never read the whole thread before posting, even if it's only 1 page long?
Anyway, this is interesting. I can't think of anything else to say because I am a boring person.
