Ganondorf's style
I am wondering about Ganondorf's style(clothing, swords, moves) in the Wind Waker. If you know a little about Japanese culture, it isn't too difficult to tell that the Wind Waker has taken much inspiration from it. Ganondorf seems to move like a samurai what's with his swords? His coat is even more Japanese, as is the pattern on it. Indeed, almost all kinds of patterns that appear in the game are inspired by Japanese art. Has Shigeru Miyamato really said anyting about why he created this new and sporty Ganondorf-character?

Re: Ganondorf's style
I prefer the WW style of Ganondorf because he beat me up. Ehe, what I mean is that in OOT he ws content throwing easily-dodged balls of hurt at you, while in WW he actually beats you up with his double skinny-scimitar things. Ganondorf looked like a bodyguard or something in OOT.
I'm glad they decided to take his character in a new direction in WW, it's something I'd like to see happen more with Zelda villains.

Re: Ganondorf's style
Ganondorf wasn't that fat in WW... honestly, in some cutscenes and the end fight you can see down his sleeves (I'm not even trying to figure out why I looked X_o) and up his robe (again, don't know why I looked...). I guess he just has a really big belly or something? o_o Either way, he has mad sword skills for his age and physical form.

Re: Ganondorf's style
Ganondorf in TWW looked cooler 'cause of his sword fighting, I guess. I thought Ganondorf in OoT sorta sucked. I mean, all he did was try to throw these weird energy balls. Although he did use a sword in OoT when he turned into Ganon.... But I think that dosen't count.

WW Ganondorf had a more Japanese style, while OoT was more Middle-Eastern, right?

Re: Ganondorf's style
in tWW Ganondorf's costume looked greatly inspired from greco-roman and japanese fashions.... personally, I think thats the best ganondorf has ever looked.
in OoT Ganondorf seemed to have more of a spanish and saxon fasion, IMO it wasnt bad, but also wasnt great.

Re: Ganondorf's style
They were actually Sais in OoT you know like what Raphael from the ninja turtles. they should make a new movie but more like the first one I mean the fight on the rooftop with shredder is still better than fight scenes from now a days. Kinda got off subject for a second there Gannon looks better in OoT but fights better in TWW. And he didn't just throw balls he did that ground pound thing too well if you were close to him but whos that stupid.

Re: Ganondorf's style
I prefered the Oot Ganondorf, the WW one wasn't exactly that threatning looking. What I want to see though is have ganondorf use that wierd looking sword you see him with some times in pictures, like that on he used in that video shown at space world in 2000. Another thing I really want to see is an epic sword fight between Link and Ganondorf like in that old space world video. They had a sword fight in WW, but it was to short and zelda was helping you...sorta, and too easy.

Re: Ganondorf's style
^ Oooh, a Gundam SEED fan! Sorry, I get crazy whenever I see Kira geared up in his pilot suit.

Anyway, in regards to the new Zelda coming out at the end of this year, I'd personally like a completely new villan to accompany the story. Ganondorf and Ganon got the spotlight for the last two Gamecube Zelda entries (WW and FSA) so let's have something fresh for a change now, like Link's Awakening, Adventures of Link, and Majora's Mask had set for the NES, SNES and N64 respectively. |

Re: Ganondorf's style
WW-style Ganondorf is a lot easier to draw as a chibi *cough* But I like WW & OOT versions equally.
In OOT *glances over at Ganny action figure, grabs & sets besides the monitor* Ganondorf looks to have the build of a football player. (And the Link action figure only comes up to his elbows!) He's got the intimidating black & brown, studded armor. Needless to say, that's pretty intimidating to look at. Fighting style was a bit a disappointment. I felt like I was playing tennis. The only challange you'd have with his OOT fighting style is if you were knocked to the below level & had to climb back up...where he's waiting to knock you back down below. In WW *sets Ganny away* Ganondorf is defiantely easiser to sketch in the quick ways that is "chibi." Though it makes him look about as intimidating as the rabbit from the "Monty Python & the Holy Grail." You know the one, with the sharp, pointy teeth. Anyways, Ganondorf doesn't seem to appear as intimidating as he does in OOT. I guess it was the robes. However, I really liked his fighting style. Many-a-time his sabers intercepted my attacks, before giving me a good kick in return. He didn't just use those sabers, he used his foot...often I might add. Now if one were to combine the two versions, OOT appearance & WW fighting style, Ganondorf would be awesome. Watch out Link, not even the Triforce of Courage can save you. Mwa ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! |

Hmm.. You know.. It looked like Ganondorf had allready obtained the Triforce of Wisdom when he fought Link. The way he talked was...so...wise.. No wonder he looks a bit fatter in WW. Gosh, the man has to eat too! ![]()

Re: Ganondorf's style
In WW he's grown and matured over the ages, probably had a lot of time to think in the seal, so the kimono-thing and more arty fighting style was befitting. I think in OoT he's just a hothead who likes to abuse his blasties. But, if Ganon/dorf isn't in this next game, I will be severely disappointed, it's just never old to me. I think Ganondorf is a key ingredient in a good Zelda game, sometimes you even want him to win! I felt really sorry for him in WW. =(
