"This tunic can only be seen only by those who are honest"

That was a quote said when Link's Grandma hands over to your trademark invisible Green Tunic. However, I was little annoyed when I saw this quote. It made me wonder if Nintendo had meant to apply this message in order to tell us that are not honest people. I didn't find it outrageous. I just thought that Nintendo was trying to inform us that if you don't seethe Green Tunic, then we are not honest.

I know what many are thinking right now: "Well, Nintendo wanted to make Link go through his second-journey in his pajamas; making us unable to see his Green Tunic." That is true, but I can't help but think how I felt whe I first saw that. Was I the only one noticing that Nintendo was trying to say that we ae not honest??? I mean sure, many of us here probably loads of lies to many people, but come on.

Has any found this out before??? And if anyone can scan a picture of this quote, please put it in this thread. It would be appreciated. I can't do it myself, because I don't have a Gamecube. My cousin does, and I play Wind Waker when he is around.

The "honesty" joke was meant as that: a joke.

It could be either, lazieness or showing that Link had become a true hero

In the nintendo gallery grandma's firgune say's she occasionally plays pranks on link. Thus he does not have an invisible tunic dear old grandma is playing a trick. They are not pyjama's either they are the normal kind of clothes that people wear on outset island. If they were pyjama's link would have started the game in his house and not in the lookout tower, he had obviously being keeping watch for ships early that morning.

Re: "This tunic can only be seen only by those who are honest"

I've wondered about this myself. The lady that's always carrying the pot on her head in Outset can see the green tunic... but interestly, Medley specifically mentions that Link is wearing BLUE clothes. Could they be trying to say that Medley isn't honest?

Maybe it was Nintendo's way of saying you aren't an honest Zelda fan if you don't like the look of TWW.

Re: "This tunic can only be seen only by those who are honest"

There's a fiary tale in which a greedy king asks his tailor to make him the finest threads ever for a parade. She gives him a pair of "invisible clothes" that only honest men and women can see, the king figures he's just dishonest and believes her. Which makes him make a fool of himself.

The scene is just a recreation of the fairy tale. It's a JOKE and a pretty good one too, seeing how it got some of you worked up over it. It has nothing to do with honesty, Grandma is just playing a trick on Link, there are no invisible clothes.

I've heard that fair tale before, but I don't think it's really meant to be related to that story. I know many fairy tales originated in Japan, such as Cinderella, but I think that one story about the king is French.

No, it's no indication; in the original ending and in the second quest, she wears the skull dress.
The ending goes completely unchanged from quest to quest, it's just a case of extreme laziness.

Well the creators of the game had many things in mind some mistakes are reasonable because they are humans.

A JOKE.

There isn't a hidden meaning or a metaphor towards life in that, it just is there.
