What made Granny sick? (spoilers may be here)

(this is from TWW, isnt it obvious?) I always wondered what made Links granny sick. This may be stupid question, I dont know. Maybe this be connected with the coming of the monsters. Well....... any thoughts?

Ummm, after Link disappeard to rescue his sister, she gets worried about him and she gets sick.
I played this game a year ago, so I don't exactly remember but when Link returns to Outset Island, the Grandma mentions why she gets sick.

Yeah. I really wouldn't call it "sick", though, I would think it would be more along the lines of depressed. After all, in one (or two, I don't remember), she lost both of her grandchildren, and I'm sure we all hope for a life where we sit in a rocking chair for 16 hours doing absolutely nothing.

Yup...depressed, so she needed a fairy to recover XD....After losing her only family you'd think she'd be worried. SICK

i say, link slowly poisoned her from the day he was born. hero of time my @$$!!!

Moved to GC Zelda.

When link left and his sis got kidnapped, granny fell into a deep depression. She wasnt really sick, she was just REALLY REALLY depressed

It's just like that line from the song "The Legend of Zelda" by Rabbit Joint:

"And when you're feeling all down, the fairy will come around..."

I think that's a perfect example of how the song could be related to Link and Aryll's grandma.

Humm...let me think. You and your sister not being home!!! She gets better. Visit her for some soup and she gets happy also when your sister is safe she feels better.

Maybe she was depressed and then depression eventually led to sickness. She did need a fairy to recover remember.

Have you ever heard of dying from a broken heart? I guess you could say she became ill of a broken heart...as ... well.... >.>

But yeah, it's because she was worried about Aryll. Link leaving her probably didn't help either. -_-

Grandma in the WW is sick because of her two grandchildren are out there, and could be hurt, and since of her age, she could not help them. That's why she is sick. Over the worryment for her grandchildren.

I'm just adding more to what's been said, but she is "worried sick" as they say. She doesn't actually have a disease per se, but rather can't stop thinking about what might be or might have happened to her two grand children. After all, they're all she's got.

Case Closed.

Yep, as everyone has said she felt sick, depressed, lonely. So, you needed to cure her in some fashion, so you get a fairy, and whiz it around Grandma and she feels better.

Then she gives you soup.

Yes, "Case Closed" exactly. I (personally) think that the question has been answered...I really don't see it going any further than it has already. So since in case is closed....could one of you strong mods please lock it? (That's just my opinion, you don't have to agree of course).

maybe she just needed attention. and if link heard she was sick he would come back. altough the soup was really nice.

maybe she was so worried about her children that she didn't take care of herself any longer and got sick that way.

Maybe she got very worried and that turned into depression which made her drink a little to much soup...?

We all know that one shouldn't have too much of one thing.
She took the soup to forget her worries and then she took a bit too much soup, got addicted and hadn't got the strenght of will to stop drinking soup before link came back and enlightened her life.
Maybe that was why she had soup over the fire ready for drinking...
