Well, I Just Beat

Well, no need for applause, i just completed The Four Swords Advanced and i was watching the end credits movie thing, and i was thinking, is there really a need to follow the annoying owl around to all the places the fairies go? well the point of this topic is to discuss the pro's and cons of TFSA, and i guess ill start.

Pros:
Lots of Bosses
Decently long levels
Lots of levels
4 links
good storyline

Cons:
no cut-scenes (well like faded out cinematic cut scenes)
4 links
i didnt like the graphics

not too much more

again this is oppinion, so dont get too too crazy over this topic

Re: Well, I Just Beat

I also just finished the game today! I rented it just to try the single player and see the story. The game was pretty long, which I liked. I didn't like the complete linearity with the levels, but then again, this game was designed for multiplayer. The puzzles in the game were fantastic, but the action and fighting sequences just felt awkward at times. This game looks like it would be loads of fun with four players working together to solve puzzles and finish the game, but I don't have friends who like Zelda enough to get a GBA and a Link Cable.

I don't mind the lack of cinemas. Honestly, I think that overly elaborate cutscenes just remove me too much from the game. For me, a little bit in cinemas means a lot. Zelda games and multiplayer games were meant to be played, not watched.

Re: Well, I Just Beat

Yeah, cut scenes should mostly be kept to RPGs unless they are incredulously interesting.
How many levels does FSA have?

Re: Well, I Just Beat

well there 8 levels and 3 sub levels in each so 24 levels in all :p

not really long ones, just like, agh i cant explain it, you know, oh ok, in Orcarina when in that scene when zelda throws the orcarina at you, something about that long in length, nothing more.

Re: Well, I Just Beat

You're talking about the cinemas right? Not the lengths of the levels.

Re: Well, I Just Beat

It was a fun game overall......

I didn't mind the lack of cut scenes very much.....I'm pretty indifferent towards that. The only thing that I did mind was the bad dialogue.....especially Ganon's, man, that was bad....so cliche

RARRR!! Link! You are foolish and weak and so stupid! I will crush you as I would an insect....FOUR MULTICOLORED INSECTS!! Mahahahahaha, I am evil and powerful! I will crush the insect that you are, you weak pathetic fool!......INSECT!

all of those times that he said insect made me think that he had a bug fetish.

I thought the graphics where pretty good...I loved the fire. All of those levels was great, but it seemed to go by too quickly, probably because the baddies were too easy....(one slash kills an armored soldier, oh noes!)

Re: Well, I Just Beat

i thought the toughest boss was probably the second time you fight phantom ganon, where there 4 of him, i know you had to hit the green one but the white ones would pummel me and it took forever, **no force fairies used i beating this boss.

i also like the smoke and "I thought the graphics where pretty good...I loved the fire." (Garo Ninja)

Re: Well, I Just Beat

I may have the Zelda opportunity of a lifetime. A co-worker of mine just got a Gamecube with a free Link Cable, already has a GBA, and he has a friend with a GBA. If my brother and me each get a GBA SP and a Link Cable, we could set up a four-player game of Four Swords Adventures! This co-worker was really keen on the idea of a four-player co-op puzzle-solving/semi-fighting adventure as opposed to a pure hack-n-slash, so this won't take any convincing on my part. We also have the opportunity to try Crystal Chronicles too.

Re: Well, I Just Beat

that's probably the one major thing I don't like about FSA, is that it doesn't have multiplayer support outside of having a GBA and link cable. Heck they want to show you your screen on a tiny GBA screen I wouldn't mind staring at my own split screen corner of the TV all game long it it mean I could play the game with friends while we all just use the GC controllers.

Re: Well, I Just Beat

Well, I just beat the game 2 hours ago. The game was fun and short in my opinion, and it was very easy, especially the bosses.
Though, it was a fun to experience using four Links as a co-op play.

Re: Well, I Just Beat

Controlling four Links at once was pretty fun. But I did miss cut scenes. There were a lot of levels, but that really didn't bother me. What really bothered me was that you could only carry one item at a time. I found it a little annoying that if you had the wrong item and you had to backtrack all the way back to the right item. But I guess the game was okay, and it did introduce that freaky Zuna tribe.

Re: Well, I Just Beat

FSA was great. In the last level, in the room where there are 4 dark world portals and rooms at the ne, nw, sw, se, I got stuck in the second room off the lowerright corner of that room. :embrsd: The one where there is a 3x3 grid of the red things you can hammer and theres those purple sparkly forces.... Usually I dont get stuck in zelda but thats a special case. Anyone else get stuck there?
