Re: Stallord's Backstory?

I think he has them, they're just unusable (maybe broken or too far beneath the sand); Nintendo didn't even bother to give him back legs, per his 3D model.

Some 3D models to compare with Stallord:

Stalhound
Stalfos

Stallord has a more defined (and upright) spine than a Stalhound and defined shoulders, like a human (or Stalfos in this case), but his skull is definitely animal-like. He could be the midpoint between the two.

Re: Stallord's Backstory?

Stallord
Stalfos
Stalchildren
StalKin
Staltroops
Stalhounds

That's all the current Stal enemies to-date.

I believe Stallord was how the inmates at Arbiters grounds were killed. It was a prison so it could be the execution chamber.

Re: Stallord's Backstory?

I rather think of the Stallord as a sufferer from the Arbiter's ground that wants to exact revenge when it was revived.

Re: Stallord's Backstory?

Lord of the stalfos...hence the name eh? Yeah all those undead appearing, are probably what caused his demise. Looks like he took out a whole army before he finally went down.

Re: Stallord's Backstory?

I'm liking this thread. The Stal Hierarchy idea is very interesting, but I think I like the "Remains of an Ancient Beast" concept better.

I'd also be very curious on Argorok's backstory.

Re: Stallord's Backstory?

I think, because the arbiters grounds was formally a prison, (as staded by Auru) that stallord acted as a sort of giant guard dog. Y'know, keeping prisinor population under control, stoping riots ect.

Re: Stallord's Backstory?

I think that the prisoners were fed to Stallord, but he eventually got out of control, and it took the small army around him to finally kill him

no idea where he came from tho

Stal Hiercarchy

1) Stallord
2) Captian Skull Keeta
3) Stalfos
4) Stalchildren

Wait, you say Skullkeeta? isnt he from Ikana? So how can he end up in Hyrule

Re: Stallord's Backstory?

I've heard that too, although I've never experienced it. It's not too far-fetched to think that there's a massive Stalchild somewhere in Hyrule.

Re: Stallord's Backstory?

I dont know if this has been mentioned yet, but what about that guy in MM who was the king of the stals in Icana Castle?

Take that back, I'm talking about the guy that you have to defeat to open up the path, not the king that you fight as the boss in the castle.

Re: Stallord's Backstory?

Couldn't he just be a collection of bones?
I mean, his body is mostly humanoid, while his head is definitely bestial, but why do the bones all need to be from the same corpse? When you fight Stalfos in other games they break down into the pile of bones, but then they reform into one being if you don't destroy the bones.
So maybe it was just comprised of the bones which were nearby.

Re: Stallord's Backstory?

Well he is a twilight fossil, so he is probably was some prehistoric beast back when he was alive. So maybe the word stal just refers to any thing like a living skeleton. And Zants magic turned alive, yet still a skeleton, making him a stal, but not only a stal, the most powerful stal of all making him lord of stals. Hence the name, Stallord

Agreed. He is the king of all those skeleton things and kill prisoners bc all those dead guys come out the ground or those guys could have been in a war fighting him and all died.

That bit about the dead guys being soldiers who faught him sounds like a good theory.

Re: Stallord's Backstory?

It was probably a prehistoric dragon/dino, sent to the Temple to protect the artifacts inside. and i think that theory about the Stalfos being warriors and being killed by fighting the Stallord is a good one. stick to it, never know, might be correct.

Re: Stallord's Backstory?

BlackKnight, Arbiter's Grounds isn't a temple; it was specifically made as a prison. You're thinking of the Desert Colossus from Ocarina of Time, which was specifically a religious temple.

Re: Stallord's Backstory?

I think Stallord is just a giant Stalfos and sort of the "king" of the stals as cloaked mystery said.

Why he was in Arbiters Grounds I don't know. Makes no sense even to me but maybe because so many people die there that there are so many bones to make him or SOMETHING who knows.
