Stallord has a more defined (and upright) spine than a Stalhound and defined shoulders, like a human (or Stalfos in this case), but his skull is definitely animal-like. He could be the midpoint between the two.
I don't think it is anything. It's presumably the most ancient and eldest of the stals which would explain it's immense size, sharper claws and big horns. Stallord is their presiding leader but was evidently killed. I also forgot to mention the Stalfos.
Couldn't he just be a collection of bones?
I mean, his body is mostly humanoid, while his head is definitely bestial, but why do the bones all need to be from the same corpse? When you fight Stalfos in other games they break down into the pile of bones, but then they reform into one being if you don't destroy the bones.
So maybe it was just comprised of the bones which were nearby.
Well he is a twilight fossil, so he is probably was some prehistoric beast back when he was alive. So maybe the word stal just refers to any thing like a living skeleton. And Zants magic turned alive, yet still a skeleton, making him a stal, but not only a stal, the most powerful stal of all making him lord of stals. Hence the name, Stallord
He is the lord of all the stals. The stalchildren are at the bottom of the hierarchy then comes Stallord's general Skullkeeta and then at the top we have stallord. He was probably in the Arbiter's grounds as a way to torment and threaten the prisoners. But of course this is all speculation.
Agreed. He is the king of all those skeleton things and kill prisoners bc all those dead guys come out the ground or those guys could have been in a war fighting him and all died.

It was probably a prehistoric dragon/dino, sent to the Temple to protect the artifacts inside. and i think that theory about the Stalfos being warriors and being killed by fighting the Stallord is a good one. stick to it, never know, might be correct.
