Re: Twilight Princess Fan club.

How many of you just woundered around for the fun of it? I did it all the time. I loved the over world map, thats why I did it, and that's my point. To me it was big and fun. It may not of had a lot in it but I still enjoyed it. I loved running around as a wolf too, that made it a lot of fun.

Re: Twilight Princess Fan club.

I have to agree. An overworld doesn't always have to be packed to be any fun. It was certainly a lot better than OoT's overworld, which was empty itself. Hyrule Field in TP was beautiful, while OoT's was plain (it looked much better in OoT3D, but TP's is still much better).

totally, I loved the realism that the emptiness generated anyway. Lots of fields in the real world are actually a lot more like TP than OOT.

Re: Twilight Princess Fan club.

I absolutely loved the setting and tone of the game. I thought to myself "Finally a dark, adult Zelda game for me, the older teen!" and I loved it for that. Also, the mystic undertones of the game (Hidden Skills, A twilight realm, a desert not easily reachable, etc. really seperated it from the other games for me. Above all it's just a genuinely fun and sometimes difficult (Darknuts x3, anyone?) game. Honorable mention for a solid, solid music soundtrack that we have come to expect from Zelda titles. Can't say that it beats out Majora's Mask for my favorite title, but it's a hell of a game.

The only thing that I really disliked were that the mini games, while fun, got old VERY fast for me (other than bug collecting, for some strange reason). I didn't really like the fishing more than in previous titles, Imp Poes never interested me, and areas such as the optional caves to explore (except the battle arena in the desert) didn't interest me in the least. Also, at some points the game felt a little more long than needed, but that was what made it more of an acquired taste for me.

Re: Twilight Princess Fan club.

There are so many reasons why I loved Twilight Princess, but Midna was tops.

When Midna first appeared before Wolf Link in his cell, I was taken in by her unreadable expression. All of a sudden she leapt into the air and landed on Wolf Link's back, and I knew she was more than some mysterious little imp. As time went on she assumed more personalities which I came to like or dislike. She was pushy and indifferent, yeah, but any chagrin I held toward her for the first half of the game instantly drained out of me when she told of her exile.

It was at this time that I realized Midna wasn't some prima donna naturally, but she was impatient to free the Twili from Zant's rule. She had coerced Link to help her and manipulated his role as Hero of Hyrule to hasten the her peoples' redemption, because she cared for them that much. This was made unquestionable, for me, by the fact that she broke the Mirror of Twilight, which altogether dissolved any possible assaults from the Twilight Realm ever again.

Re: Twilight Princess Fan club.

As the game that started it all for me, my love for twilight princess is unfathomable. It taught me a game doesn't have to be an FPS/racer to be awesome. Without it, I wouldn't have not only Zelda, but minecraft, Mario, Skyrim... I could go on.

Re: Twilight Princess Fan club.

While not the most risky -- nor the most challenging -- entry in the series, Twilight Princess is the definitive gaming experience for me. Everything about it, from the combat (despite being somewhat antiquated by Skyward Sword), to the - for lack of a better word - epic boss battles, to the haunting musical score, to the most emotionally engaging story that I've ever experienced in a game, makes Twilight Princess my absolute favorite video game.

Can't wait to play through it again this summer.

Re: Twilight Princess Fan club.

The items were awesome, the dungeons were some of the best, if not THE best, in the Zelda franchise, the characters had the most character development in the series, the music was the best in the franchise and the graphics are debatabley the best in the franchise as well.

It also had the most catching plot right off the bat. But right after you get the Master Sword, it doesn't feel like it stays the same. It has little to no sense of urgency or darkness. But after the City in the Sky, it goes back to the darker feel to the plot that I enjoy so much.

I would say it has the standard Zelda problems, but in a slightly lessened form. So, in my mind, it's the best Zelda game out there.

Re: Twilight Princess Fan club.

Yeah I would say it was a little on the easy side some times, but I had it hard times too. City in the Sky got my the first and second time. I do have the guide to it (both the silver Wii edition, and the hard bound) I try not to us them. So I say it was still, very good in that area.

Re: Twilight Princess Fan club.

That's true. While, today, I can pretty much just breeze through the entire game, my first playthrough of TP was more than a little tricky. Hell, that stone guardians puzzle in front of the Temple of Time still gives me trouble. I forget that my perception of how difficult a particular Zelda game is is often blurred by multiple playthroughs.

Another thing I like is the colors. Some say that there is too much brown. Well where I live there are a lot of browns most of the year, so it fine to me. There are a lot of browns in nature, so to me the game just shows that.

Re: Twilight Princess Fan club.

There really isn't that much brown in the game to begin with.

The colors may not be vibrant like in WW, but they do look just fine, considering the type of game it is.

Re: Twilight Princess Fan club.

I live in a place where there is only grey, brown and green, so the colors in TP didn't bug me at all.

Hell, I thought they were realistic, not "Stupid, mucky and plain".

The same could be said for me, really.

I don't think I've ever seen a place as colorful as the WW locations.

Re: Twilight Princess Fan club.

I also think Ganondorf was cool in the game. Since this would be the child time line Link never beat him in OoT, so he would have to do it at some point. It really makes since when you think about it. Now I don't think he has to come back now. That final battle with was awesome and what I always wanted to do!

Why Twilight Princess is my favourite zelda game

1. Graphics look amazing.
2. Chrachaters are much more intriguing.
3. The story line is awesome! The twilight parts were amazing
4. The dungeons were sweet, especially the sky one
5. The controls were great. They had a nice combination of simply swinging the wii remote and pushing buttons. Enough motion control to make it easy but not to much to make it over the top (like skyward sword)
6. Sweet Items ( spinner, ball and chain, dominon rod)
7. Epic boss battles (the fight against ganandorf was epic!)
8. Horseriding actually plays a big part in the game

Re: Twilight Princess Fan club.

My favorite Zelda game will probably always be OoT, but TP is my second most favorite Zelda game. Mostly because of the characters who, like you said, are much more intriguing. I didn't like the Wii controls too much though, but I agree about the graphics. TP is the best looking Zelda game, in my opinion. And yes, the spinner is a sweet item. It's so fun!

EDIT: Er, this post was originally in response to coolguy721's thread, and then it was merged into this one. So sorry if what I said may seem out of place ^^'
