Did anyone else feel heavily disappointed when the reason for forging the master sword is just to open a gate. When we were speculating that the game was going to be about the forging of the master sword I was thinking there would be a more epic reason to force the sword like a massive threat or something but no... Just to open a gate and get to zelda... Doesn't this bug anyone else?
You simplify it to make it more dumb than it really is.
You're not opening a gate, you're opening a Gate of Time, not to mention you don't even open it with the fully-powered MS, no, you purify it using Hylia's powers and use it to defeat the Satan of Zelda and his demon spawn. So no, I don't feel disappointment.
The physical forging of the sword by purifying it in the flames was sadly a bit of a letdown, but then unleashing the true Master Sword later on was easily one of the most enjoyable moments in the game.
Right next to putting the sword to rest in the Pedestal of Time.
I was a massive legend of zelda fan and i was REALLY looking forward to this game but it just wasn't what I expected. The majority of the game was running after zelda and the reason for forging the master sword, although I simplified it, was still anticlimactic and fairly dull... Hell, we didn't even see a glimpse of a threat greater than debbie until he mentions his plan in the 5th temple... I was really looking forward to a good story line and it just wasn't sadly... Temples were good though
i thought it was disappointing that you couldn't upgrade your sword via the sorely underdeveloped upgrade system but i guess that would have been difficult given the thing had to turn into the master sword. :s
Well the imprisoned was the same boss 3 times... It lost threat status...
I disagree. It was not the same boss, the first time was simple, the second time was a bit trickier due to it moving faster and Link having to jump around it to get to the sealing spike and the third time was a race against time, I lost that one the first time because I missed jumping onto its head.
The only real let down for me was the Triforce pieces not having any special jingle when you picked them up, I loved the sword-forging scenes and the jingle that went along with upgrading the Goddess Sword.
