hould they make a new 'Cel Shaded' Zelda game for console?

I've been playing TWW lately and I've been thinking. I really like Wind Waker and it's my favorite Zelda game. But I want more of it! PH is nice and I'm sure ST will be too, but I want a full fledged 3D Cel Shaded Wind Waker based Zelda game. I don't care if it's flooded or not. I just really want it. I think it'd be awesome.

Your opinions.

Re: hould they make a new 'Cel Shaded' Zelda game for console?

Wind Waker was beautiful, and I certainly wouldn't mind seeing a similar looking Zelda title. Whilst a great deal has been made about how the style 'fits' the handheld, I'd personally rather see it used again on a console; extra processing power and all that.

If I had to criticize the style at all, it would be that the truly stunning sections of Wind Waker were very rare. Some moments in that game were jaw-droppingly beautiful, such as the Boss battle in the Tower of the Gods, or traversing the outside of the frozen isle, but aside from those moments, the game didn't look that exceptional. The bulk of the experience was spent staring out at an endless blue texture, and running around identically themed desert islands.

While it certainly looked better on the 'Cube than the DS, I'm ready for something new.

I'd love it if the next console Zelda were cel-shaded but I'm kind of tired of the Wind Waker style.

Re: hould they make a new 'Cel Shaded' Zelda game for console?

I'd rather the series NOT be cell-shaded. I mean, they have the handheld games for those right?

Yeah, I have to admit, WW was a HUGE success compared to the negative assumptions people had when people saw that it was cell-shaded, but I really don't think people will actually enjoy another game like that. They'll just compare it to WW, and which cell-shaded Zelda console game could ever match to the standards of the tWW?

I prefer a more realistic tone for the series, like the one used in TP.

Re: hould they make a new 'Cel Shaded' Zelda game for console?

I don't think it needs to be cel-shaded, but I think the next console Zelda shouldn't try to compete with games on the PS3 or the 360 in terms of pure photorealism. One of the great things about Wind Waker was the fact that it came completely out of left field. It was Nintendo saying "We don't need to compete in pure processing power. We can do things differently."

And why shouldn't they? Why not do something with the aesthetics of stained glass, or Byzantine ikons, or Aztec temple paintings? I'm sick of brown and bloom. I want to see something new.

As much as I love Wind Waker's graphics they've already used that style in four main series games--Wind Waker, Minish Cap, Phantom Hourglass, and now Spirit Tracks--and I'm getting kind of tired of it.

It's kind of a moot point, though, since the next console Zelda is all but guaranteed to have Twilight Princess-style graphics.

Absolutely not, leave the cel-shading for DS. As much as I loved the design they chose for Wind Waker, I just would rather have more realistic graphics for the Wii.

Lose the horrendous Wind Waker art style and then you'll get me excited. The Wind Waker engine produced some vibrant and beautiful environments, however, those technical feats were overshadowed by the lacking character design.

Re: hould they make a new 'Cel Shaded' Zelda game for console?

Yes they should, but they should make the graphics look more like those in Zack & Wiki. That game captured the same overall look, but with much more detail.

I don't think it should be confined to DS games, because it looks better on consoles.

id say no. theres no way they could even TRY to compete with ps3 or 360 in terms of photorealism. but zelda feels good that way. i do like ww but i think everything just looks so much cooler wen its more realistic.
