What the hell do people have against Twilight Princess?

Tigerboi: Zant, Agahnim, Vaati, all of them were pawns that were used to further his desires. It's only natural that a villian would promise someone power just so they'd help them only to screw them over at the last minute.

I think the similar looks is just lazy character design.

Tigerboi: Where does it state that? Also she looks almost exactly like Midna so I would put a little more stock in it than that.

Huh that is rather interesting. She reminds me of a great fairy only she's more demonic in appearance.

I liked TP, just not loved it. I think the twilight zone wasn't very fun because I hated collecting those tears

The only thing that bothered me was Midna she was a total ***** and mostly she made a total new kind of fan brats.

TP was my favorite Zelda game so far. It had a great plot, good graphics, and sweet controls (on wiiwith the pointer and motion)

I'm going to guess that 90% of this thread is just mindless, childish babbling and maybe the 10% civility is hidden in here somewhere. I'm amused at how angry people are getting over such a dumb topic. It's called "personal preference." Some people got what they wanted out of TP. Others did not. Why can't anyone understand that?

I'm fine with opinions but when people bash it mindlessly and say it singlehandedly ruined Zelda forever then I get pissed because, outside of this small pointless forum, there are thousands of people that love TP and consider one of the best Zeldas.

It also really does depend on what you wanted. After the 8 years of nothing but pure innovation between OoT and TP, I wanted a traditional Zelda game.

I don't see it as a problem that TP didn't really revolutionize the formula, because I feel it was better that TP instead perfected the gameplay formula introduced in OoT, just as ALTTP perfected the gameplay formula introduced in the original.

But if you're the type of fan that just wants the series to keep changing, TP isn't for you. However, I think too much changing of the formula is the equivalent of saying your previous games were failures. We all want innovation, but there are still times where innovation should take a break and let the series go back to its roots.

Yeah, I think people do overreact with their disliking of this game. I'll admit, TP was the reason I was initially worried about the Zelda series going stale. But with everything I've heard about Zelda Wii, I at least have hope that it will not go stale, at least not now.

The two aren't mutually exclusive. The makers of TP obviously didn't know that.

^^ Well, changes to gameplay =/= innovation. It's not innovative for the franchise when it's never used again outside of the game in which it appeared. For example, when since OoS have you ever been able to change seasons, and in what game since MM have you ever used a mask again?

In order for changes to the formula to be innovation, I would think they have to exist in more than one game.

I can agree that innovation/originality in WW was sailing and cell shaded graphics. Problem is that I thought the innovation/originality in WW was just plain crap and blew like the four winds. So I'm glad that TP was not innovative like the much overrated WW.

I have beaten the insanely easy WW TWICE and have obtained all the masks in MM. OK me and you are not little kids. So could you debate my previous point without the silly misguided judgements on age and maturity level??
