Re: What would you rate LoZ:TP out of ten?

I nice solid 8/10. :D

Great game, worth owning and playing through once or twice. Not exactly a classic like certain other 3D Zelda games, but every game can't be a masterpiece. :]

Re: What would you rate LoZ:TP out of ten?

8/10

A great game really. Good story, good gameplay, good re-play value. The only thing, and this will continue throughout the series I think, is the "N64" syndrome. Ocarina of time (and in my opinion MM) both set the standard so ridiculously high that all the games since them, including TP, have yet to live up. Some have come close, but none have matched it or gone higher.

This, for sure. People keep comparing newer games to older games instead of seeing the newer games for what they are.

I would give it a 9. It's a nice story, good graphics, good characters, but, It was too easy.

Re: What would you rate LoZ:TP out of ten?

I rate Eight. Expansive Overworld, Fun Bosses, and a good deal of random fun (For some reason, I ocassionally feel like Riding all the way around Lanaryu, just for the chance to kill something). Loses 1 point for havin to re-navigate a dungeon after you quit, and another for the sheer difficulty of Water based puzzles (Zora Temple, Fishing ETC).

Umm, that's about it for now. I will add more, as soon as I think of something. For the love of Nayru, this damm Brown Potion was supposed to have started working Hours ago...Im gonna kill that merchant...

Hey hey guess what! TWILIGHT PRINCESS IS NOT ****ING GOD! Oh, and these are people's opinions.

Oh, and by the way, some of us having higher priorities in life than video games, so the whole save quit thing in the middle of a dungeon is kinda important. Although I'd like to note that due to the linearity of TP's dungeons that whole save and go back to start thing was just a time eater, and also that stupid chicken thing was there for that.

And motion controls for fishing can be annoying at times, but fair enough it is kinda easy.

I do see it for what it is. A mediocre, empty, and silly experience

Re: What would you rate LoZ:TP out of ten?

Some reviewer (can't remember who) made a good point about TP. he said that since Zelda is going in a totally different direction and that it will never be the same, Nintendo wanted fans to have one last game with the classic formula in it, to brush by some nostalgia, and give fans "one last good-bye" to the old formula. If that's the case, fine, but I personally don't feel it's neccessary. The old games will never go away; it's not like they'll just disappear forever.

Someone really needs to calm down. I never said it was God. If you payed attention instead of acting like such a sensitive idiot, you would know that I have already named quite a few flaws in TP.

Interlulz. Interlulz. I like lolcats. Interlulz.

I know this argument is really none of my business, so I'm going to not really bother with it.
I'm quoting you to ask you a question because I see this in every last one of your posts:
Why do you always post like a stuck-up pretentious asswad? 'Cause I know damn well you don't talk like that outside of the "interlulz."

And you know what? Screw it. I am gonna jump in on this argument. What the hell does "Actions speak louder than words" have to do with this? Sounds like you just realized you ****ed up because you made an assumption and jumped on Link92 for it.
God damn, man.

Re: What would you rate LoZ:TP out of ten?

I'd give it a 6.

While OoT was really easy, I'd have to say that TP(/TWW) was(/were) even easier. I died a few times in OoT, and now if I playthrough it I make actually have one or two deaths, despite knowing the game really well. I killed myself to see what the game over screen looked like in TP. And MM wasn't quite difficult in the same way as, say, AoL, but it REALLY made you think at some parts. Way more than OoT or TP.

The plot was bland and way too similar to LttP and FSA and OoT (OoT is guilty of this too, however. Although I'd say to a lesser extent).

Gameplay was NOT as good as OoT/MM's. Running was slow, you didn't get the option to call Epona any time until late-ish in the game, they nerfed side-jumping and walking backwards, so you couldn't just run backwards/sideways everywhere to get places faster, so it felt way slower. So it was annoying as hell to run everywhere.

And the vines in TP were ****ING STUPID. IT TAKES WAY TOO GOD DAMN LONG TO CLIMB VINES IN TP.

This might seem minor, but it's not. Anyone notice how much hate random tripping in Brawl gets, but how SO very rarely the trip actually changes a match (really only makes a difference if you're fighting against a competent Ice Climber player, or if you're getting down to last hits in a match (which it's your fault for getting hit so much that it gets to that, in the first place))? Both are just annoying as hell. TP vines take way too god damn long to climb. It's so damn stupid that he has to move each limb individually just to climb some damn vines. It's so much damn slower than OoT.

And the tears of light quests were SO FREAKEN DULL.

It had some good parts, which is why I gave it a 6.

Re: What would you rate LoZ:TP out of ten?

^^ While I agree with some parts, I have to say it's total BS that TP's movement is slower than OoT/MM's. In fact, TP's movement is much faster.

Not counting Wolf Link's dash, and the travel-based emphasis on the unarguably faster Epona.

Woah, woah, what? OoT's story is far more similar to ALTTP than TP is to ALTTP or OoT. You get 3 Spiritual Stones/Pendants to get the Master Sword and then awaken 7 maidens, this time under the guise of Sages.

TP was more original in terms of story progression in that none of the dungeons had anything to do with unlocking the Master Sword or awakening Sages.

TP's movement was actually much faster. Not even counting wolf form. It's just that the world was much larger so it took more time to reach certain areas.

You have no idea how much I agree with this. Especially when the nunchuck (although it rarely does this) mistakes your control stick movements, making Link climb down and fall to his death when I'm quite clearly trying to climb horizontally.

Am I the only one who thinks the hatred of tripping in Brawl is completely justified? It's not that it endangers you of losing the match, it's that it happens WAY TOO OFTEN!!! I agree completely, it's annoying as hell and can cause what would potentially be a really flashy, kick ass combo to fail because some ***whole game designer who's laughing his *** off thinks it was a good idea to make people trip, probably to give the casual ****s a free point.

You and I have some differing opinions, I guess it's how we weigh certain flaws. I give TP a 10/10 because I feel it's pros far outweigh its cons, but I don't consider a 10/10 to be a perfect game, just a game of my highest recommendation.
