who here LIKED WW's Triforce hunting?

I'm probably going to be flamed to no end for saying this, but I actually loved the Triforce hunting in WW. I liked exploring each island looking for the charts, it was fun! This may have to do with the fact that I loved the sailing, which I know many of you hated. the only annoying part of the Triforce hunting was having to grapple the actual pieces out of the ocean, but looking for the charts was great!

So, do you agree or disagree (probably this one) with me?

Meh, I didn't care for it, but it wasn't as bad as the OoT Water Temple. The only parts I didn't like was when you had to shoot kagaroks from the boat, or the time you had to find the Ghost Ship Chart. That's all I really didn't like.

It was ok the hunting part, i just disliked the whole finding enough rupee's to translate the maps was the chore.

Re: who here LIKED WW's Triforce hunting?

It gave me a chance to fill up my sea chart seeing as how I was going all over the place looking for the triforce peices. So yeah, I guess I liked it.

Re: who here LIKED WW's Triforce hunting?

I hated getting charts deciphered and digging up the shards from the ocean itself.

I did like filling up my sea chart and actually looking for the charts, though.

So yes and no.

I thought it was lots of fun Triforce hunting. I liked having to go all over the sea looking for the charts and stuff. But I never did have enough rupees to get them translated so that sucked. But it gave me the chance to fill up my sea chart so that's good.

If Tingle wasn't in the game, I would have liked the hunt...

Re: who here LIKED WW's Triforce hunting?

The hunt for the triforce was a legit part of the game, It often led to a clue for a side quest which make the game feel more real. If you weren't into the whole exploring thing in the game then you would quickly acquire a taste for it and every island on the game was a real jewel, the only real downside to it was tingle being a freaking jack-@$$ charging you an arm and a to translate the map!

No real complaint from me.

Re: who here LIKED WW's Triforce hunting?

It hardly encouraged exploration. All of the triforce pieces were in the middle of the ocean, and all of the charts were housed in islands specifically designed to be dungeons to house the charts. The whole thing was convoluted beyond belief and only served to pad out a title admittedly light on content.

I don't hate Wind Waker, but I thought that section was spectacularly pointless. Every time I replay the game, I usually stop after the fifth dungeon because I just can't be bothered. It's a shame because it picks up again when you go back down to Hyrule.

it was alright, save for tingle. I feel that I should have left him in the jail cell and found someone else to translate.

The exploration bit rings true. However, I found it fun to go square by square, explore every new island, and mark each on the map, while looking for charts. Helped dim down the dullness of the Triforce hunt for one, and took another step towards 100% completion for another.

Re: who here LIKED WW's Triforce hunting?

I noticed many of you are complaining about Tingle and the rupees, but I actually never had a problem with that in all of my WW playthroughs. Usually, right by the chests with the charts, there are pots with tons of rupees inside of them. Plus, that 50-part cave thing on OUtset Island where one of the charts is has tons of rupees every tenth floor. Everytime I got to Tingle, I easily had almost 5000 rupees, more than enough for him to decipher the charts.

Re: who here LIKED WW's Triforce hunting?

It's not as bad as I thought it was the second time around. But there really isn't much going for it. I never realized this, but getting the Triforce charts in between dungeons will shorten the Triforce hunt a lot. My original playthrough was a nightmare though, and I hated it. To this day I delete my TWW files as soon as the Wind Temple is finished. =\

Never had a money issue though. I DID have an issue with too much money so Tingle's high prices were actually a good thing.

Money is a problem if:

1.) The biggest wallet is not acquired by this time

and 2.) The player doesn't go to the Outset Island cave and get the wallet full.

Aside from that, it's irritating to see the stupid fairy-wannabe take a good portion of your money for something like deciphering charts.

Well, I would think the player would have found the biggest wallet by that point in the game. Those fairy islands are pretty easy to notice. And you have to go to the Outset Island cave, because that's where one of the charts is.

I do agree that tingle is an annoying fairy-wannabe, however.

Point and point (had forgotten about the chart in the cave), but it changes nothing about the fact that he's taking your money out of greed. Always made me mad.

Well, to be fair, he's deciphering charts that lead you to the triforce. 398 rupees is a pretty cheap deal for that, wouldn't you think?

I suppose it could be worse, they could be 400 rupees each. XD

Still, if he just deciphered them all for 2000 rupees, I'd be happy. Rather than having it done one by one (if I remember, it's one by one), and would be cheaper, too.

EDIT IN:
