Skullkid in TP same as one in MM?

Does anyone have any speculation on this? He's the only Skullkid we see in TP, and I figure if Link were to ask anyone who lives in the woods to protect what's hidden there (the Master Sword, and the Sacred Grove in general) he would ask someone who lives in the Lost Woods, and who was eternally grateful to him. I don't know if anyone already made a thread about this, but, here's mine. Discuss.

I certainly think so. He seems to have the same personality, though if he is, where is Tatle and Tael?

I kinda doubt it, I mean, there's been more than one skull kid, right? There's also the time difference, don't know/remember if skull kids were immortal though.

Although I'm not certain, I seem to recall that in OoT we were told that kids who wander into the forest are Skullkids forever, not that they would be for the rest of their lives. I kind of always assumed they had been there a really long time.

And the fact that there had been more than one Skullkid aside, the only one he associated with really was the one in MM, who owed him a huge favor. All the others didn't really do much, and didn't really know Link.

I have no idea, lol. Do fairys grow old?

EDIT: Please note that the Skullkid in TP carries a very oddly glowing lantern through the forest.

I'd like to think so, although Tatl and Tael are nowhere to be found. I think it's more fun to think that there's a connection between MM and TP (even if the connection itself is nonexistent) rather than just have it be a random Skullkid.

Thinking about it now, you always did see skull kids with masks, but the one in TP wasn't wearing any... If it's the same one as in MM, that explains that. He didn't have anything else to put on after Majora's Mask. :p

Re: Skullkid in TP same as one in MM?

I never saw him as the same one. I don't even remember if the skull kid in MM went back to the Lost Woods or not. But even so, I feel like his story was finished after MM. Having just some other skull kid keeps it a little more fresh to me, but I guess I'm not horribly opposed to it being the same one, haha.

Re: Skullkid in TP same as one in MM?

I wouldn't bet on it. I mean...there were a lot of Skullkids originally in OoT. I'm not sure why this one was so "important" as to lead Link to the Master Sword and Sacred Grove.

The Skullkid in MM was a bit of a "trickster" or "hooligan" but as far as I can recall...that's just the typical personality of a Skullkid. I just don't think there's enough information to clarify whether he is or isn't. But...I just don't have much of a reason to believe he was that skullkid.

Actually the one you give the mask to in OoT is the same skull kid from Majora's Mask... unless I've always just assumed that...

He knows Saria's song and wears clothes identical to the Skull Kid from MM. That alone is enough to convince me that he's the same Skull Kid.

The Saria's Song bit I had forgotten. Good call.

I've thought so too. The Skullkid mentions that Link 'smells like that kid he met in the woods', or something to that effect.

Re: Skullkid in TP same as one in MM?

It really doesn't matter, but I like to think it is. I would go with the idea that Link asked him to guard the sacred grove for him. And he does know sarias song, so that does help support the theory. I can't think of any proof for him not being that skullkid other than the absence of his fairies. But that could just be because the creators didn't want it to be blatantly obvious that it is the same one.

When Link met Skull Kid in MM, the Master Sword was resting in the temple of time and was probably protected by the door of time. I don't think he even knew of the sacred grove.

No, I don't think that the Skull Kid went back to Hyrule with Link...

Yeah...good call. I completely forgot about Saria's Song. Perhaps it was just passed down...or a Skullkid overheard her playing it back in the day, and passed it on to the other Skullkids. If not...I think that Saria's Song would be a good indicator that it was the same Skullkid.

Why is a "relationship" necessary between Skullkid and Link? He could have just as easily been destined to show Link the way by a greater force, like a Light Spirit or something.

Why not? And more so, we're talking about the Lost Woods in general, not specifically Hyrule.

I'm not saying it's necessary. I'm saying if we consider the scenario that the TP Skullkid was not instructed by anyone, how would another Skullkid know of the Sacred Grove? Or even know to defend it? Furthermore, I meant that if Link was going to have anyone in the woods protect it, especially if we know its a Skullkid, what other Skullkids did he really know? Or what other Skullkid would he TRUST, more so?

Well, a specific point, how could it have been protected by the Door of Time if Link was still in the Master Sword's chamber at the end? I think in the end of OoT, he was sent back in time to the moment just before he pulled the sword.

But anyway, Link would certainly know about the whereabouts of the Master Sword, and how hard is it to tell someone to defend it?

Re: Skullkid in TP same as one in MM?

I think it is heavily implied that the skull kid in TP is the same from MM and OOT. the fact that he knows Saria's Song in TP gives it away.
