Four Swords Adventures
I just noticed that Four Swords Advetnure is not only among one of the best Zelda games I have ever seen, but very, no, extremely underrated, too. Very few of you know of its absolute brillinace.
Element-wise, it feels like a blend of A Link to the Past, The Minish Cap, and The Wind Waker. It's feeling is of the elemtsn of those games all together. It is an obvious sequel - direct if on the adult timeline, indirect if before the timeline split - to The Minish Cap, and the obvious prequel to A Link to the Past. Oh yes, that game not only sequels The Minish Cap, but prequels A Link to the Past, connecting The Minish Cap to A Link to the Past, at that. The point is, the game has great gameplay and great graphics, combing the use of A Link to the Past's graphics and overworld geography with some of The Wind Waker's beautiful cel-shaded graphics. It's storyline is a connected between The Minish Cap and the forehshadowing and connection to the events of A Link to the Past. Why is the game so underrated? It's among one of the best Zeldas out there. It's music? Freakin' brilliant. The game has among the best soundtracks, which are some new and others awesome recreactions of some of the music in A Link to the Past. |

Re: Four Swords Adventures
It was a good game, I didn't think of it timeline wise though.

Re: Four Swords Adventures
Probably because of it's unique game play that seemed unlike what we have seen before. We are used to an over world and collecting a bunch of items and heart pieces. FSA Seemed kind of shallow compared to other Zelda's. You say the gameplay is great and it is, it is just missing some Zelda elements like a big over world you can only have one item at a time that kind of sucks. However I did have a very fun time fighting larger hordes of enemies. It is no way bad just a little different.

Re: Four Swords Adventures
Aside from the fact that the music was 90% remakes, the graphics almost as much and the story, whilst platable, still very easy to just toss to the side and forget about, the game was very good, with great level design, very impressive bosses and a great flow to it.
Definitely a great game, amongst the Zelda games it stands somewhere in the middle. |

Re: Four Swords Adventures
I've only played a little bit of FSA (up to the Village of the Blue Maiden), but I do think it is a pretty good game.
I did not really like it at first, but after I played ALttP, I gained a much greater appreciation of FSA due to its references to ALttP. Also, since they didn't have to worry about making an overworld to connect all the areas, they were able to make the areas bigger. No, this should probably be in Gamecube and Wii Zelda.

Re: Four Swords Adventures
I agree that it is underrated. Matter of fact, I think I have it listed as my favorite Zelda game. I greatly enjoyed it; it brought a lot of much needed originality to the 2-D Zelda gameplay formula.
Unfortunately, gameplay was pretty much the only thing that WAS original. Nearly all the music, graphics, story, characters, etc, were all taken entirely from other Zelda games, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it missed a lot of opportunity in lazily copying components from another games, making it feel like more of a halfhearted spin-off than a genuine Zelda experience. |

Re: Four Swords Adventures
I loved the look of the graphics, but i didn't like playing as four links, that got tedious real
quick, this game must be meant for 4 players

Really? I only played through the game by myself, and I thought the controls of the four Links worked VERY well. |

Re: Four Swords Adventures
I used to own the gmae i traded it in though(i regret that)
The game was like link to the past it was fun yet could be beaten in a day, or two. Sad part was is that it has little rep aly value other then multipalyer which i didnt have 3 link cables 3 gameboys and 3 4 sword cart's and i didnt have 3 other friends so unless you have the utilities the game is worth playing once and maybe replaying every once and a while. It's a fun game nothing less. |

Re: Four Swords Adventures
I would've really enjoyed FSA, but whole "levels" thing took away from the exploration part of the game. I also didn't like it how easy it was. You would just keep coming back to life. I really wish there would've been just an open world to explore and stuff. That would've greatly improved how this game stands in my rankings.
