Twilight Princess for GameCube

Is this a rare game?

I'm just asking, because I just made a deal, and is getting one next week, so I'm kinda excited, since I can barely remember that it said somewhere that it's rare, so I'm asking you folks, is it as rare as I think?

Have only seen a few on evilbay and this is the first one I've seen, and, not surprisingly, bought, on my norwegian sell- and buy-site

Isn't important that it's rare, but would have been fun if it is

Re: Twilight Princess for GameCube

I don't think it's rare. It might be more rare to find than the Wii Twilight Princess, because that is the system of Nintendo right now. Most of the game stores where I live carry a few gamecube games, but I never have looked to see if Twilight Princess was there. To my understanding it is not rare, but I may be wrong.

Re: Twilight Princess for GameCube

The only reason why people think it's rare is because it's discontinued. The main reason why Nintendo kept it for both the wii and the gamecube was (I believe) so those who didn't camp out for the wii/twilight princess back in 2006, could still get the gamecube version during the Christmas rush. I don't really remember seeing that many gamecube versions of Twilight Princess by the time 2007 rolled around.

That's what I ended up doing because at the time, Wiis were completely sold out, and people were selling them online for $600+.

Re: Twilight Princess for GameCube

That's a pity

Now I have TP both for GC and Wii, so one of them is destined to become rare later, in some years, don't ya think?

The fact that it's discontinued and actually not for sale direct from the factory anymore, but either from a store that's kept them like new or secondhand, or from evilbay or some other sell- and buy-site, wouldn't that actually mean that it will become rarer over time?

Re: Twilight Princess for GameCube

lol. Everything is destined to become rare, I'm sure, but not now. XD
TP is still as expensive as it used to be, so...
The only difference between the two versions is that they are exactly opposite.

Re: Twilight Princess for GameCube

The Gamecube one is better IMO. I can never get used to Zelda with motion controls. Ever.

Wii:
IMO, really like the thing Nintendo has going on with the Motion Controls, and it fits Zelda so fine. Kinda weird-feeling the first... Couple of hours, not when you get used to it (I did), it's as natural as breathing.. Or something. IMO the Motion Controls is a step-forward for Nintendo, though I actually also like the original ones

GameCube:
Well, the GameCube-Controller actually is a new twist of something "old", a totally renewed control. It reminds me of the N64-Control, but at the same time, it don't. Darn hard to explain, but what IMO is an advantage for GC, is that you can sit down in a goos chair, and relax when playing, without having to wave with your arms as crazy when an enemy is approaching. But hey, that's a fun twist. +1 for the Wii

The conclusion: They're both pretty much the same as much as I can figure out, except that Motion-Control for the Wii. But IMO, I wouldn't actually rate one over the other. But if I had to choose, it would be the Wii. Or the GC. Or the Wii...

But it's fun playing them both, that's what matters <---(Hope y'all get my point here), so they're pretty equal

Re: Twilight Princess for GameCube

I believe it isnt rare because the GC version was, as you know, the original version, and they made a bunch of them.

Re: Twilight Princess for GameCube

It might not be rare in the US but GC 'PAL' version is certainly rare in the UK, i have not seen many GC version of TP at the high street retailers, if you do manage to find one, it's over £40, which is quite expensive considering it's a GC title, but maybe that also indicates that it's a rare game so retailers know people would pay that much for a rare game, it doesnt stay on the shelf for long if it is available.

Wii version on the other hand is pretty common and sells for about £20.

Re: Twilight Princess for GameCube

I got TP for the GC for 30 dollars at the local game exchange place. It sounded like a deal, and Zelda games go pretty fast there so I bought it right away, but I haven't played it much yet. I try to limit myself to one The Legend of Zelda game at a time and I'm in the middle of WW.

Re: Twilight Princess for GameCube

Well, work this out.

You can buy a copy of Twilight Princess Wii on Ebay for £20. The GC version, you will be lucky to find it for under £40 used.

The GC version was made in a limited bunch to honor pre-orders of the title before it was announced for the Wii as well. A few more copies were made for those unlucky to not get the Wii version. New copies of the GC version ran out in January/February.

In my honest opinion, the GC version is rare to get hold of. To get a new on, it is about as rare to get as seeing the end of a rainbow. A used copy is not as rare at all, but still rare to find.
