KoRL or Midna?

Midna, definitely because she was hilarious and cocky, just like Kelsey said. Plus, the KoRL wouldn't follow you around, and I HATED sailing from place to place. =P

Midna is just too cool not to vote for her.

KotRL because... he's just cool... and the king of Hyrule...

King of Red Lions. He is very wise, and is always calm and collected. And I think that him beating Ganondorf to the Triforce is one of the awesomest things in Zelda history.

Hahaha true. I got a little mad at ganondorf staying calm after that.....I mean wth?

MIDNA! GOOD GOD MIDNA! I hated the KoRL, IDK why, he wasn't as cool or as slick as Midna, and he didn't tell a single JOKE!

Well, I don't think kings should be cracking jokes left and right.

Tatl... Because Midna is... well, tv tropes (why do I even know that site exists?) calls it an "expy".

So I suppose KoRL. He didn't have a theme song, but he did have one of the best arrangements of the Hyrule Castle theme I've ever heard. Plus it's a canon rearrangement. So, yeah. He also only bothered you like 3 times, so that's a plus. They were all horribly obvious, but, yeah.

The talking boat, KoRL, was more useful sidekick (considering Link could only swim for a short amount of time) but far more boring than Midna who provided a wholesome amount of entertainment.

The KoRL was a character I could respect, a ruler that came across as wise and still fallible. Dull as sailing might have been sometimes, most of Wind Waker wouldn't have taken place without him, so in that sense he was the more useful sidekick. The scene where he gets the Triforce was probably the most awesome moment any sidekick has gotten. I like the fact that he remains calm both as he's claiming victory and as he's drowning with his kingdom, unlike Midna, who spent too much time overreacting for my tastes.

Midna annoyed me by constantly telling me what to do instead of letting me figure it out for myself, and she acted nasty half the time and overdramatic for the rest.

But I'm sure as hell ready to stress that KoRL and Midna are the only sidekicks really worth their salt (and Linebeck if he counts in an all-around case), and I frankly call a double standard on calling either one out for what they developed from/never suffered from in the first place simply because they're still the most well-utilized sidekicks plotwise in the series. Everyone else was either flat with their characterization, or didn't even have any.

And it is for precisely this reason that I am polling the community on which of these sidekicks they liked better. Obviously sidekicks like Navi or Tatl, who had hardly any involvement with the story, are going to be discounted quite readily. So I took the two most developed sidekicks so I could see which ZU likes better. Simple as that. To that end, a "both" option wouldn't really be appropriate.

Meh, I like em both the same.

Part of the reason I prefer Midna. It's nice having her there whenever you need her.
The other reason: she's fun to travel with. The King of Red Lions is a pretty pragmatic, down-to-earth sort of guy, but when you're on a tedious quest like that it'd be nice to have someone to lift your spirits.

KORL was okay. But no comparison to my Midna <3

It's a close call.

I loved KORL for his wisdom and advice. His character had much depth. Kingly, he was! I think that he was one of my favorite sidekicks.

But...Midna has to be my favorite of Link's sidekicks. I love her sarcasm, her levity...every cocky thing about her. She's absolutely gorgeous. She's mysterious, courageous, helpful...so many things all rolled into one amazing woman. And since she's there the whole time, the connection becomes unavoidable.

I vote Midna. Everyone else has basically said why, if I haven't done a good enough job.
