Link's Transformation: Why a Wolf?

He should have been an Orden goat.

Penguin Link was probably their first choice, but it would've been too awsome and they didn't wanna risk the fans getting heart attacks.

I guess Link was a wolf becuase it can cause damage, and it's agile (which they liked to use quite a bit in the parts you had to be Wolf Link)

i think that a wolf a has a certain well-roundedness to it; agility, speed, stealth, strength, and mystery; this makes it fun to play and good for the overall theme of the story( a tad dark). Also I think there was a poll at nintendo of several animals that could be the one link turned into, and this was the winner.

I find thew wolf being abit overdone for some reasons. But when I think about what other animals they could've used I did get very far. Maybe a tiger.

I thought the wolf thing was fine and interesting, but collecting tears of light was the worst part of that game by far!

I think he turned into a wolf because this incarnation of Link has the same personality as a wolf. Loyal to the pack, courageous, and above all, savage in a fight. If you look at the amazing combat in TP, you'll see that Link's fighting style is much more agile and agressive than in previous titles.

the twilight is dark, the wolve's fur is dark...a black bear's fur is also dark but it is not as flexible as the wolf. i think it's cool with the wolf

It had to be an animal who could fight. That narrows it down to lions, tigers, bears, and wolves. Bears are ruled out because Link would look retarded as a bear.

As for lions and tigers:

Hyrule=/=Africa
therefore
Hyrule/lions or tigers=0
and
Hyrule/Links=1
so
Link=/=lion or tiger.

I think wolf was the right choice in terms of the choice of animal. I still think it's odd that he transforms into that at all though...Zelda was unscathed by the Twilight because of her ToW, why wouldn't Link remain a human as well? It was just kinda bizarre that he transformed in the first place...

o c`mon let nintendo do what they wish,they could have made him a snail and it would have been cool!

A wolf has pointed ears just like the Hylians maybe it was just the simularities between link and a wolf ,and maybe a wolf just fit into the darker themes of twilight princess

Link is very much like a wolf, and especially in this game where he only sets out to save younger children (pups) of his village (his pack).

There are a lot of other animals that can fight. Like most animals can fight. Link could have been a jackal, or a bat, or so many other things. This is not a valid argument.

No tigers in Africa... you lose again. Also, Hyrule is a separate place from our world, so why can't there be a lion or tiger in Hyrule?

Well, we all know that on the inside, Link is a bunny. I think Nintendo should've remembered ALttP and done it that way.
