Zant at end of TP *spoilers!*

Hey, I have a question. At the end of Twilight Princess after you beat Ganondorf you see Zant for a second where he twitches his head to the left, Ganondorf's eyes turn white like he's possessed and..... what? you don't really see anything happen other than him dieing....

Anyone have any theories on what happened?

Ganondorf gave Zant some of his powers because they had the same goal. (At that moment, they both wanted to combined light and twilight to make darkness.) ...because they are connected, Zant was able to kill Ganondorf. Since Ganondorf gave him some of his powers, he wanted Zant's help so he (Ganondorf) could defeat Link. Zant replied by breaking his neck, which inturned, broke Ganondorf's neck. Thus killing him.

The only aspect that makes me doubt what Zien said, is that Zant, by that point, is already dead himself. Does he still possibly have a bit of Ganondorfs power left in him? Can he actually kill Ganondorf himself if hes already dead? Even though it looks that way, with the neck snapping and all, it still confuses me how Zant managed to do that >>;

There are many theories going around that he could be a spirit, or even still alive.

This is what I think happened:

1. Ganondorf appears to Zant, claiming to be an all powerful god.
2. Ganondorf needs power to escape the twilight realm, so he proposes to "merge" his soul and life with Zant, Zant is either too weak to fight back or lets Ganondorf merge with him.
3. Ganondorf and Zant now share a soul, and a life, but their minds and bodies are still seperate, when one dies, the other can bring him back.
4. Ganondorf, with Zant's abilities, escapes the twilight realm, and Zant, with Ganondorf power, raises hell in the light world of Hyrule with twilight curtains.
5. Link, (or Midna -_^) "kills" Zant, but Zant doesn't pass on, he remains in limbo because since he shares a life and soul with Ganondorf, he can't die, and is now waiting for Ganondorf to bring him back. I also think that while Zant is in this limbo, he can see everything that goes on with Ganondorf.
6. Link faces and stabs Ganondorf with the , but even though Zant is dead, Ganondorf is still being kept alive by the ToP. Zant now sees that most of Ganondorf's power came from that, and that he himself is not a god, Zant feels betrayed and cheated.
7. Since Zant and Ganondorf share a soul, presumably, they also share the ToP, and since Ganondorf is alive but weakened, Zant with his mind alone is able to take the triforce away from him, (he does not keep it himself, because he has no body, but since they both control it, he can choose to release it so neither of them have the triforce piece.)
8. Zant removing the triforce was that whole neck-breaking scene, it was just to signify that Zant didn't respect Ganondorf anymore after seeing that he wasn't a god, and wanted him dead. it also includes him taking the ToP out of him.
9. Without the ToP, Ganondorf dies right there. and without a life-link binding him to earth, Zant's soul, (now seperated from Ganondorf.) passes on and dies as well.


......i dunno why i said this, as it doesn't really do my timeline justice, but i guess it's the only thing that makes sense.

That's what I said. They shared the ToP, and since Ganondorf was weakened after battling Link, Zant was most likely able to force the triforce of power out of Ganondorf's body, thus killing both of them.

Oh, and maybe Zant had something to do with the Triforce before, Ganondorf came to him, Zant followed his orders AND he had maybe part of the Triforce. So he probably planned it all along.

hmm...i don't think so, remember when you confront Zant as Link he talks about how he met Ganondorf and how he really does beleive that he is sharing his soul with a god. and why would he plan to kill ganondorf AND himself, when his true goal was to become the ruler of the twilight realm, and maybe Hyrule too.

[COLOR="Green"]True, but maybe he knew he couldn't do it since he saw Link and Midna live through his curse. So maybe not in the beginning, but until the point where Link turned back to normal. Maybe he already knew he was going to get owned by Link. AND then in the end he probably kills Ganondorf because Link bested Zant and Zant wanted to kill Ganondorf, since he was probably going to try to kill him anyways in the end because knowing by the basics, 2 villains are never seen working with each other. Therefore, Zant got part of his wish. He didn't turn Hyrule into a Twilight Realm, but he killed Ganondorf.

It does make sense, i suppose any time between Zant's death by Link and Ganondorf's defeat is when Zant realizes that Ganondorf isn't a god.

Therefore, Zant is GOD. Kidding. But seriously, Ganondorf is basically a sack of lies laying down and waiting for you to open him up.

The ending left you guessing. There is no proof that is why Zant killed Ganondorf, but it would make sense. (As everyone has said.) ...becasue we know so little about Zant's real intentions, we can only guess. There is no, true lead, what so ever.

Zant did not kill Ganondorf. Zant dying was symbolic of Ganondorf losing his power since it was Ganondorf's power keeping him alive.

So Zant DID finish him off. He had a share of power. Zant was probably what was left over.

I agree that Zant and Ganondorf was sharing their souls or something, since I believe Zant said that Ganondorf could bring him back even if he died.
I don't believe they shared the Triforce of Power, however. We have seen before that the Master Sword is capable of negating evil power, which includes the Triforce's power to ressurect Ganondorf (LoZ, ALttP, OoT). That is why the symbol faded when he tried to use it again after being stabbed, since the sword was still lodged in his chest. In desperation, Ganondorf reaches out to Zant for him to share his power again, but Zant breaks his own neck and cuts Ganondorf's final power supply. With that, Ganondorf's eyes roll back as he dies.

That's my interpretation, at least. Doesn't make it any less mind-screwy.
