Re: Point of magic armor
I equip it when I need to get close to the Darknut/Iron knuckle/whatever they are. And then unequip it when I'm out of range. A bit of a hassle I know, but the Cave of Ordeals slowly depletes my hearts, and potions.
Or you could just equip while having 0 Rupees, put on the Iron boots, take out the Ball and Chain, then go for a walk in the snow. ![]() |

Re: Point of magic armor
It helps if you remember to use it - which I really didn't the first time I played through the game. I'm replaying it to see how much I can use it now. It is helpful if you're one that takes a lot of damage in battle, but if you had to remove one item from the game that was unnecessary, this would probably be on the scratch list.

Re: Point of magic armor
it's not that useful... it just looks pretty in your inventory and is one of those things that you have to get to complete the game 100%... easiest way to get it would be just going through temples and filling up your wallet as you go through the game.

Re: Point of magic armor
The magic armor becomes really useful when it comes to the Cave of Ordeals. Right around the last few levels when you run out of potions, faries etc, you can rely on the magic armor for a short period of time. It also helps when you want to get rid of rupees while trying to get all the overworld chests.

It's a bonus in the game if nothing more. I use it in the Gerudo Mesa (Cave of Ordeals) in the last room where there are the 3 darknuts. Nothing else rely But it is useful to make room in your wallet because as how I see it the money is an issue in the game. There is too much of it and too little to spend it on. But other than that is one of those get 100% finished game of just don't get it. I tried it! I just had to. Having 0 rupees with the magic armour on does not constitute for having Iron booths. The Goron elevator wont operate that way and you can't walk past the steam holes at Death Mountain. And you probably won't even sink. The sinking I did not try but I doubt it as it does not work on other places as the iron booths either.
