lava frog??

I don't know if everyone knows this and I'm just slow to discover it, but there's some sort of frog / fish thing that lives IN the lava of the first room of the Goron Mines... and I suppose possibly later rooms as well. If you step on the first switch to turn off the lava jet, but skip the second and let the second lava jet knock you into the lava, you can usually see some five foot high frog looking thing just out of the lava just as you land in it and die.

yes, its a variation of a progectile shooting fish. just use ur hylian shield to bounce back the attack from it back to it, kind of like deku scrubs in oot. there is also a water version of this monstor

The wiki doesn't mention it actually living in lava though. Weird.

It's called a toadpoli. The beast has an aquatic version later in the dungeon and is also found as target practice in Link's crossbow training in the Rapid stage.

Technically it's called a Fire Toadpoli.
And there really isnt anything significant about it.

I wasnt even aware that it attacked you. I noticed it but gave it no attention because it didnt seem like a threat.

Well, it's only a thread if you stand in one spot for a few seconds. I have been attacked by it when looking around the room.

Oh yeah... We all know. Either that or I'm pretty insightful.
