Post Strategy Guide Buyers

I have bought a few strategy guides. Some were unintentional. WW, OoT, 4 Swords, TP, and PH.

Which version Prima? or another? You can tell by looking at the corner of the guide.

Re: Strategy Guide Buyers

I haven't boughten any guides, because I don't like to use them on my first play through of a game. I, however, have been thinking of getting them recently to help when I play games again to make sure I get all the extras.

Re: Strategy Guide Buyers

I myself have only purchased the Twilight Princess strategy guide, since I really didn't need one for Phantom Hourglass. However, I wish I could've gotten some sort of book-form strategy guide for Ocarina of Time. Constantly referring back to an online FAQ got annoying. By the way, am I the only person here who uses proper English? Also, I am actually fifteen, not some thirty year old coaching teens about the use of proper grammar while online like some of you are no doubt thinking.

Re: Strategy Guide Buyers

Well I only own 2 Strategy Guides.

One was for OoT, it had a really cool picture of Link and Shiek fighting a horde of monsters. But the pages kept getting loose and eventually its now a bunch of loose pages. Well some are still connected but still.

Then we got the WW strategy guide with the game. That is... well quite frankly I have no idea where it went.

I try not to use any kind of guide internet or otherwise. But sometimes I will get stuck and cant for the life of me figure it out. Its almost always the smallest detail I over look.

Re: Strategy Guide Buyers

Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, The Wind Waker (two for this one), Twilight Princess, Phantom Hourglass. Also have the strategy guide that covers each game on the Collector's Edition (Legend of Zelda, Adventure of Link, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask).

It doesn't stop at Zelda. I have a strategy guide for nearly every game I own. Weird habit.

Re: Strategy Guide Buyers

Something seems to be misplaced here. . .

I only own one strategy guide for the Zelda series: Brady Games' Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker Official Strategy Guide. It included a guide for OOT as well (for some reason). I originally bought it for nostalgic purposes, but then I realized that was stupid. I never actually used the thing, despite its wear and tears.

I was incredibly tempted to purchase Prima's Limited Edition Twilight Princess strategy guide. I figured it wasn't worth the setback of $30 (USD).

Re: Strategy Guide Buyers

*(Laughs)* I can't stand those limited eidtion guides from Prima. You pay $30 for what's essentially the exact same content in the $20 guide, but in a nicer looking volume, and maybe a bigger poster or something. Don't get me wrong, those things look amazing, but I'd rather use the money to buy a DS game, not a book that goes with some other game.

The only strategy guide I ever got was when I got OoT for my birthday ten years ago.

Re: Strategy Guide Buyers

Strategy guides that are actual books cost money. That money could instead be used to buy a Zelda game or could be donated to ZU.

There is a different version than the one with the cover of the game on it (One I have has the cover) the other cover is Gold and has a Symbol on it. I cannot look through it though because it was sealed. You can pick one up from Gamestop or Best Buy (only places I saw it)

That is not always the case. I bought Windwaker at EbGames before 2003 and around Feb. 22 The Master's Quest and Original game were given to me free for purchasing WW, which was kinda wierd, but what really got to me was they even gave you the strategy guide for OoT. Thats how I got that 1.

Then when WW came out I got a discount on Windwaker with some kinda coupon and then I had WW guide.

As for 4 swords, got it through Nintendo's special price in a letter. I got 4 Swords Adventures, T-Shirt, Guide, Cable, and a 12-month subscription to NP for $70... no bad for a $50 game at the time.

Then I renewed for NP and got TP strategy guide. Which was a good deal (since I couldn't find all poes).

Now I got a renewal for NP in Jan. so I am getting the PH guide. Again good deal, since guides are $15 originally for $5 I also get NP for 12 months!

I am still waiting for the gude for PH but it should come around the end of the month or beginning of March.
