No MAGIC POWER in TP a GOOD IDEA??

I think so. It was the one thing I found original. That was one flaw with WW, it was en exact copy of the regular 3D engine.

Post what you think here

Meh. Having no magic is ok. And TP is just a heavily modded version of the Wind Waker Engine.

Re: No MAGIC POWER in TP a GOOD IDEA??

Sure, it was a good idea, but not because it was original, rather because it was uneccesary. They were going to put magic in TP, but I imagine that they found that the only thing that really used it would be the magic armor, and there's really no need to have an entire magic system for a optional side item, so they dropped it, and had the magic armor use rupees instead like arrows did on the original LoZ.

I think i don't care, considering TP doesn't have any "magical" items. In the end, it depends on the game

Re: No MAGIC POWER in TP a GOOD IDEA??

I would have enjoyed it because they could have brought back Din's Fire. Oocoo was a replacement for Farore's Wind and Magic Armor for Nayru's love so I guess they didn't really have too....

Imagine Magic Armor which drains hearts. :XD

You guys are saying there's no magical items but there is: dominion rod, magic armor, gale boomerang, and I think one more.

Re: No MAGIC POWER in TP a GOOD IDEA??

I kinda liked how there was no magic meter, I gave link a little more to deal with and made his quest "harder" and seeing as he made it through just means he's a bad ass

They was no need for it therefor I didn't mind not having it. However I like it better with magic and items that require it.

Re: No MAGIC POWER in TP a GOOD IDEA??

Yeah, there wouldn't have been any need for it. The only time its been needed is for the fire, ice and light arrows to melt ice, light torches etc. And in OoT it was needed for Din's fire and the rest of the spells which I never really used anyway. And it doesen't matter because they were replaced with new items in TP. The Gale boomerang didn't really need magic and neither did the lantern.

Also, I liked it how Nintendo broke away from a magic-using Link. Magic is like the overused thing in games these days, like games such as FF and other turn-based RPG games.

Magic in Zelda would only work if it was pulled off right and I wouldn't want to see Link doing it anyway But maybe Zelda!

Re: No MAGIC POWER in TP a GOOD IDEA??

I really didn't notice at first, actaully. But when I did, I was just meh. Just another something they left out from OoT and other Zelda games.

I swear, it's as if everyone wanted an EXACT copy of OoT and TWW. People need to get the idea in their head that this is a dawn of Zelda games.

Re: No MAGIC POWER in TP a GOOD IDEA??

Personally i think it was a good idea.

It was something new to the Zelda series and there was no need for it in the game at all.

Yes there could have been a few items that could of used them but hey!

Re: No MAGIC POWER in TP a GOOD IDEA??

Magic Power always seemed to be the most pointless feature in any Zelda game ever. In ALTTP, the only real reason for it being there was to prevent the medallions from being too cheap, and in OoT, MM and TWW it was only there to do the same thing for Din's Fire and the Magic Armour. And...that was it. So, yes, I'm glad it's gone.

Re: No MAGIC POWER in TP a GOOD IDEA??

I'm glad the magic meter was taken out because Twilight Princess focuses on sword techniques. It would also be another tally in favor of those who complain about TP being too much like Ocarina of Time.

But since sword techniques were the main type of fighting in TP, I'm sure magic would be unnecessary.

Re: No MAGIC POWER in TP a GOOD IDEA??

I don't think it added any challenge or made it harder. I mean limitless magic! what more could you ask for in the land of Hyrule? I think it took away from the game - quite literally too. But nevertheless I think I would have preferred the magic metre. That gives you fear on three levels..
"Oh no this is a bloody dark tunnel and my oils going to run out!"
"Oh no this is a bloody big skeleton and I'm gonna get killed!"
"Oh no I have to use me *_magical item_* but I'm going to run out of magic power and have to get some more from those jars BEHIND HIS HEAD OMG and argh.. there's none in them.. I'm going to have to fight him the unorthodox way.. Omg he's too strong.. Damn I'm dead."
See what I mean?
