Things that could´ve make TP a better game.

First of all, hi everybody! Well, this is my first post from a long, looong time...

As said in the title, the purpose of this thread is to share your ideas of what could´ve make TP a better game. No matter how ridiculous it is, or whatever.I don´t know if there is alerady a thread like this, but well.

Anyway, I think I´m going to start, yes:


Rivers. And a boat goes with that, that is. I had the slight feeling that Hyrule field wasn´t as glorious as it was suppsoed to be. Many of us were mainly attracted to this overworld, and it delivered masterfully.

But, in my opinion, it lacked style. Everything was there for a purpose, and that´s great, but something with less purpose to give more freedom would´ve been great. As said above, rivers wouldv´ve made Hyrule field a much better place to be.

Remember the first trailer? Yes, in the first scene, the first image of TP revealed to the world, there was a beatiful place with a river flowing. Just imagine being there, following the river, in your boat, fishing anywhere you want...

Well, I could develop this way further, and I could talk about a dozen things that could´ve improved TP just in the field topic (like "pruned" or repeated textures), but I´ll stop here.

The fields in my opinion were beautiful, the lighting work was done excellently and especially around day time everything was glistning and pretty, here is what I didn't like

-no day/night transformation system, you don't need magic, how about a nap?
-hyrule field lacks stuff, sure there are heart pieces but it's mostly just eye candy while you gallop along on <insert horse name here> (I know it's epona)
-low resolution textures, when you get close up you notice
-weak enemies, only some trees n'such
-zoras domain is completely pointless, there isn't even a heart piece hidden there
-since they implemented a heart finding forune teller, they should have made the heart pieces harder to get, the ice puzzles are a prime example, or atleast a couple difficult battles or platforming sections, a simple press B three times spinner puzzle doesn't count
-make the spinner useful more than 10 times (that is approximately correct, I'm not joking)
-after beating the game a traveling shamman will come to town/dream guy/anything that lets you replay previous boss fights for fun (or 50 ruppee reward but I'd do it for free)
-palace of darkness freaked me out, then they gave your sword 1 hit KO powers 10 minutes in and that was the end of it
-don't make zant a cry baby, that or make ridallin an ammunition option for your bow
-don't kill of items after the item they appeared in
-don't make the twiliight realm pretty but useless
-don't make kakiroki village and castle town smaller than windfall island (or castle town and kakiroki village from OoT)
-this is a T rated game, attacking a cucco should turn link into a pair of bloody decrepit stumps
-don't add a boring fetch it quest
-give indicators to help collection quests
-don't make areas where you have to figure out something quick or die, that just racks up deaths
-don't use illogical solutions to puzzles
-use voice acting somewhere

midna at the end of the game says I'll see you later and then shatters the mirror, I'm also pretty sure that the game mentioned 5 fused shadows instead of four
also the weird scene with Ilia was just....

-give link a love interest
-ANTIALIASING, HOW HARD CAN IT BE? (4x)
-don't make the water temple so easy and straight forward
-don't kill off the magic bar
-don't kill off elemental arrows
-would it kill you to add more minigames
-more humor
-thjere's more...

i have FULLY completed and i mean fully completed Oot, Alttp, Oos, Ooa, La, Loz (1st quest), Mc, WW, MM, Aol
and i almost forgot FSA although it really isn't a Zelda game
pending: Loz (2nd quest)

Last few dungeons were too short

If the enemies don't get harder soon... someones gonna pay dearly

Items become useless after their dungeon

Wiimote not meant for fruit minigame

More epic horse battles (love the scene at end of Link vs Fat Green guy 1)

The volcanic rock... too random

Too easy to get rupees

Zant shoulda looked a bit more like a T rated Vatti

Monsters are too easy (I know I said that already)

I think that Zant was way to whiney towards the end of the game. It kind of took away his menacing alure. I would have preferred we never saw his full face unless he was as enigmatic and evil as his snake-like features made him seem to be.

A few more sidequests. The postman could get injured and you'd have to deliver letters all over the place in a set amount of time, or something.

As a minor thing, a better stage four in the Zant boss fight. I like the fight, but stage four sucked hard. He's just jumping on poles and shooting you. Heck, I can even knock him down when he's not shooting at me. A Stallord part would have been better, with the electric bugs acting as spiked spinners and Zant shooting us with that big red blast seen after Lakebed.

Shut up. The fact that Zant turned out to be a simpering dog was original for Zelda. We don't need two badasses in one game.

Please bring back the difficulty. Harder, longer dungeons. Enemies that take four hearts away per hit.

Give the magic armor different attributes. Doubles defense, but inhibits movement, or something besides taking a rupee a second and 50 rupees per hit.

Make the twilight realm and the city in the sky more than just dungeons. I wanted to see towns.

Voice acting IS done in some places. You know what Midna sounds like, and the fisher girl clearly says "OK" when you rent the boat.

Make the guards act like soldiers. Have them become hostile towards Wolf Link, much like Rusl does if you get too close.

Take away the part where Ilia kidnaps your horse the second time. Epona got a minor wound BEFORE helping you round up goats in record time, and Ilia scolds you and steals your horse. She's jealous, I say.

Enemy A.I- The Boss battles in TP were to easy, especially with Midna available with the "Z" button to practically tell you what to do.

More Suits- More suits would be cool. Only 2 extra(not counting the original) was a little short handed. Perhaps suits that protect Link from Fire, Wind, and more.

Anyways, someone said that an enemy who can take away four hearts? King Bulblin is

close, but he only does 3 heart swing-the-axe damage, while fighting him on foot.

Yes, the dungeons seem easy. Forest Temple, is OK. Goron Mines needs more floors

(Like a Mining Room with GOLD/Rupee rocks [Eh... Whatever]), Lakebed Temple, when I

played TP, actually is easy. Although I got lost for a while, it seemed easy. Arbiter's

Grounds, seemed only hard at that Spinner room (Where lots of Spinner tracks are).

Snowpeak Ruins was fun, but EASY. Temple of Time, doesn't need changes. The lead-

the-statue thing is long. City in The Sky is OK. Palace of Twilight needs MAJOR changes.

It seemed like, only a few chambers? I figured out Sol puzzles and it seemed short, and

there should be a maze-like chamber there. Hyrule Castle, is also seems short. Only a

few puzzles, and half-easy. (Watch out for the painting in the room with Skull-Lizalfos,

you may get lost)

Chances are, this has already been said, but it bears repeating.

TP did not suck me in like other Zelda games. True, it was a fun game, but it certainly did not live up to the hype. The whole time, I felt there was something lacking... And I eventually realized what it was. A severe lack of involving sidequests. One of the things I loved most about Majora's Mask was the fact that even some of the most inconspicuous NPCs had a story to tell. All of the main characters in TP were wonderfully designed...but they were the only characters that had personality. Everyone else was just so bland. What's more, there was no trading quest for an ultimate weapon! >< Graaar!!

For this reason alone, TP failed me spectacularly. If only the characters had more depth, it would have been a breathtaking experience! Also, the Western theme in some areas of the game didn't really tickle me. << I think the Zelda crew played on a stereotype, there... It was well-played, yes, but sadly overdone and not really outstanding enough to be interesting.

^ IMO ultimate weapons are useless because the game is so darn easy. But yeah, there should've been a trading quest anyway.

I just think they should have made the textures less repetitive on the field and more varied. If you zoom out the camera, you see that the textures repeat themselves every 2 meters or something. Sometimes you see it without zooming out.

What solutions have been illogical? Most puzzles were pretty straightforward and Zelda-ish.

Anti-aliasing? Are you serious? The field would probably make the game lag and make it look like a powerpoint presentation with AA, it's laggy already in some parts.

It would have been kind of cool if you saw Link do stuff during the week that the cannon guy fixed the sky cannon. Human Link fishing, Wolf Link playing with Midna, or something like that.

For one, better swordfighters. The only good swordfighters were Darknuts, and they weren't even that good.

Another thing that could've made it bettwer is more types of fish. I've caugh every type of fish in the game.

Finally, more Hidden Skills. I'd grown so fond of that Stalfos, then you learn the last move and POOF! No more Stalfos.

I wouldn't ask for more hidden skills, but I would like to be able to train with him every time I went to a howling stone. It could be just like training with Orca in TWW. Stalfos have been one of my favorite enemies in games because of their even balance of attack and defense.

You have a lot of problems with TP, don't you?

The only thing that I would change about it (if anything) is the boss fights. I would make the bosses a little bit harder, and tougher to figure out. Oh, and you were right though, some elemental arrows and a magic meter would be nice.

after these i have TP(working on), PH, LttP: 4 swords, and OoA

^ Oh yes, that's something that has bugged me since the release of MM. It was such a great addition to the series.. I really thought that would become a Zelda standard. I hope they add this feature to Zelda Wii.

I completely agree.
More dungeons, more towns and side quests most definitely.
I also like the lack of voice acting-just sounds or whatever. That way you can imagine how they sound, and it fits the character well in your eyes.

First off, welcome back MC.

I was disappointed by the lack of sidequests like so many others. And the excessive walled in canyons took away from the feeling of freedom that I love so much about these games.

The last two dungeons were way too short. And the Bosses were all hideously easy, there was berely any sense of accomplishment after beating any of them.
