Triforce of Power (Spoilers)

We are here to discuss why/how the triforce of power faded from Ganondorf's hand at the end of twilight princess. (there was a forum like this but it was closed because people were offending each other and arguing mindlessly) Please everyone be respectful so that we can shed some more light on this 'zelda mystery'.

Possible things that occured:
1) ToP faded because ganondorf was dead.
2) The master sword stopped it from working.
3) Ganondorf gave it to Zant.
4) The master sword absorbed the ToP.
5) With the ToC and the master sword, Link made the ToP leave ganondorf.
6) The ToP is still within ganondorf but it just stopped working.

or any combination of the above or maybe you have different possiblities.

We may also observe the image of zant and 'his neck breaking' and if it was this that killed ganondorf or not .

There should be spoilers in the title.

Anyway, it's pretty obvious that he died. The triforce abandons him, the glow fades away, his body goes limp, and after he gets that macabe welcome to hell message from Zant his eyes roll back, his head lowers, and he stops breathing. That is good proof that he is not alive anymore.

Ganondorf so totally died there. =P

The 'death' of Ganondorf has never been so 'intense'.
Most of the times, it's just "SLASH, bye Ganondorf!" and then the game ends or something.
This time, it was "UGH... OUCH... UGH... IT's NOT THE END... UGH..."
And then the final blow from Zant (or so it seems) arrived.

Ganondorf's power possibly left him as he has never been killed, thats why in every zelda game he keeps coming back, this is because he is always trapped in the sacred realm. So maybe since he died his power was taken away by the godss. So maybe the gods will pick a new holder of the ToP or some how ganondorf will come back like every other zelda game. You will just have to wait and see what mr. miyamoto has up his sleeve in future zelda's.

the death of ganondorf in ww was also very intense, like sword through the forehead intense

Ganondorf either didn't lose the ToP or gets it back becasue in the next game (the wind waker) ganondorf clearly has the triforce of power mark on his hand after the new link pulls out the master sword. so the gods didn't find someone else to give it to.

the ToP of belongs to ganondorf just like the ToW to zelda and ToC to Link.
ganondorf does in fact die at the end
this follows with how in WW they say ganon crawled back from the grave.

at the end of TP ganondorf is dead.

uhhhh thanks people but i never said he didn't die so focus on the triforce of power. Yes it is obvious he's 'DEAD' but not so dead that he can never come back lol

If this was the child timeline, then Ganondorf can in fact be dead and that ends that problem.

In my opinion though, I just thought that at the end of OOT, Ganondorf was just trapped in the Sacred Realm and taken out of time. Because Zelda messed up the timeline and Link traveled through it enough, Memories of Link's deeds managed to become shared by the same people in different timelines, thus explaining why both timelines know of Link. The Ganondorf in Twilight Princess was another Gerudo king, named after the one of old due to his appearance.

Since he was blind to his enemies, he was captured and sentenced to death by the original sages. At that moment, the original Ganondorf in the Sacred Realm might have given his piece of the triforce to his descendant in the child timeline, hoping that with it he could conquer the other Hyrule. When his descendant was defeated by Link, the original Ganondorf might have just decided to take his piece of the triforce back. Just speculation, but possible. It would explain how the Twilight Princess Ganondorf got the triforce of power when the Sacred Realm was never opened.

It could have been taken away by the godesses themselves. It was given to him by a divine prank, so it would be fitting that they are the onces who took it away.

Ganondorf takes over Zants body. Completely this time.

It was not given to him buy a 'divine prank' thats only from the sages point of view. Ganondorf first entered the sacred realm and was given the third that most represented what was in his heart, power, in OoT. Technically he followed the god's rules and was given what he deserved. The sages believed ganondorf to just be a mortal man so they were shocked that someone so evil could have been granted the power of the gods when the triangle glowed on his hand. Then he killed the water sage.

I very much doubt that there are more than one ganondorf. I believe that it is always the same. there are some threads dicussing this and here's a summary of my point of view. (split timeline)
Ganondorf is sealed - OoT (adult)
Ganondorf is caught after link warns the king - OoT (child)
he's taken out of the realm to be executed - TP
He sees the master sword but only says that it is impressive becasue it hasn't yet killed him - TP
Killed at the end and his triforce piece vanishes - TP
Climbs out of the depths of the earth - tWW
his triforce piece returns after the master sword is pulled - tWW
After the final battle he is killed and nothing else is known after this - tWW

you see that zant is still alive, and right before ganondorf "dies" and loses his triforce of power, you'll see zant. his head moves. ganondorf takes over his body and takes the triforce of power with him

Yes i was thinking that also "future" but the idea that his neck broke now dominates zelda universe lol. I very much doubt zant broke his neck cuz there's that "i shall desire whatever you desire" and zant was definately not suicidal....just crazy. I dunno about taking the ToP with him tho except that if zant ever touched the triforce i bet he would be given the triforce of power which means that his body can house its power so i suppose your right.

As the whole "Silver Arrow is the only thing that has ever killed Ganon" and the "Master Sword can kill him until he gets the full Triforce" debate is raging, absolutes as he is killed or isn't killed should not be taken into effect.

Speaking of absolutes, an absolute is that the backstory of The Wind Waker mentions that the Hero of Time seals away Ganondorf, and then the evil that the people thought was sealed away returns. This says nothing about Ganon dieing.

But as legends get passed down for centuries or even thousands of years it can be altered.

Becasue link specifically helped people (gorons/zoras/humans/kokiri) from ganondorf in ocarina of time then the legend would be about Ganondorf and Link.

However in TP The zoras gorons humans etc. have problems that don't deal with ganondorf, and I imagine that nobody in hyrule even knew about Ganondorf in twilight princess except for link zelda midna and the sages and zant. So there would be NO legend about the hero in twilight princess because the people knew nothing of his deeds with stopping and killing ganondorf.

So therefore it makes sense that there's no account for the death of the king of evil.

It also states that he 'crept forth from the depths of the earth' meaning that he was most likely burried after the battle but then somehow resurrected.

AND ENOUGH ABOUT THE SILVER ARROW!! that was ages ago and i'm positive that it was replaced by the master sword and light arrows. light to pierce the barrier of darkness around him and the sacred blade to finish him off.

master sword - destroys the body

A large problem with that is that if the king didn't listen to his magical daughter, what'd make him listen to some random kid dressed in green? Also, the OOT Ganondorf was very intelligent, whereas the TP Ganondorf was described as blind.
