Re: Favourite Dungeon
Temple of Time reminds of of the Tower of the gods in a few ways.
Alot of the elements in this temple would feel right at home in the temple of the gods. Heck, they even made you move/control statues!

Re: Favourite Dungeon
I loved the Goron Mines. Exept for the terrible boss, it rocked. Plus this isn't a boss thread so I shouldn't even be thinking about Fyrus. It had awsome puzzles with the whole walk on walls thing. Snow peak would definetly come in second.

Re: Favourite Dungeon
I;d have to say Hyrule Castle. It was just nice to see what it was like inside, and the the music mixing between Hyrule Castle theme and Ganondorf's theme. Superb. Temple of Time would be my second favourite, but only up to the part where you go through the window, then its just boring and an obvious Tower of the Gods rip-off.

Re: Favourite Dungeon
My vote goes to "Arbiter’s Grounds", tracking down the poes reminded me of Ocarinas Forest Temple which was one of my favorite temples in that game. Arbiter Grounds also had the coolest enemies like hordes of skeletons rising from the sand and those gibdo/redead swordsmen. Still, the main feature that got me to like this dungeon was its atmosphere and the story behind it.

Re: Favourite Dungeon
I'm not even sure why I loved the Goron mines so much. I'm a bit picky about my dungeons and a lot of the dungeons in past Zelda's felt more like work than play. The goron mines, however, was a lot of fun

Re: Favourite Dungeon
A huge rip-off, it rather sucked. I wish it improved upon it more, OoT Forest Temple totally kicks it's ass.
Mine would have to be the Goron mines still, excellent dungeon. The Boss would of been kick ass if he was a little more harder to beat.

Re: Favourite Dungeon
I enjoyed Snowpeak Ruins, it was offbeat and interesting. The boss wasn't much of a fight or anything, but I got more amusement out of the Ball & Chain than any other weapon in the game.

Re: Favourite Dungeon
I'm up to The Palace of Twilight at the moment, and although I like them all so far, my ordered favorites are:
1. Snowpeak Ruins- theme was unique and puzzles were challenging but not frustrating 2. Arbiter's Grounds- would be first were it not for the re-use of the poes 3. Goron Mines- a bit easy but a blast to play through 4. Lakebed Temple- frustrating at times, but a good challenge and excellent visuals 5. Forest Temple- loved the monkeys but perhaps too difficult for the first dungeon 6. City in the Sky- Oocca is my home-girl but the dungeon felt too "alien" for me 7. Temple of Time- walk here, grab statue, walk back got real boring real fast |

Re: Favourite Dungeon
The Goron Mines rank as one of my favorite temples in any Zelda game for gameplay and design. I LOVE using the iron boots to walk on the roof, its brilliant. If only the boss were a little more challenging...
Arbiters Grounds are really cool, but I got a recycled Forest Temple (OoT) feeling from it... That aside it was very good. Temple of Time and Twilight Palace were FAR too straight forward... They were great looking, but they lacked substance. |

Re: Favourite Dungeon
my favorite so far would be arbiters grounds. I really liked the boss and how you had to fight him on the spinner riding up that tower. It was really cool. It didn't remind me of OoT forest temple at the time I was playing it, but now that I think about it I guess it does. Mainly becuase of the poe hunting and how their lights return to the main chamber after they're defeated, just like the ones do in OoT forest temple.

Re: Favourite Dungeon
Goron Mines. Death Mountain is cool, the bow is probably my favourite item in any Zelda game, the mini-boss was great, walking on the roof/walls was awesome. My only complaint is that the boss was pitiful.
The Temple of Time is a very close second, though. It was fun, Ghoma rules, but the Dominion Rod is practically useless outside of areas where you need to use it, and it was sometimes extremely tedious guiding the big statue all the way back through the temple. |
