Forest Temple - Odd one out?

I was slightly confused after finishing the game...That only one dungeon followed the naming system of OoT. Why was the Forest Temple called the Forest Temple? The way all the other dungeons are named...You would think the Forest Temple should be called the Faron Temple?

If they're trying to connect that the Forest Temple is the same as the Forest Temple in OoT. Howcome it wasn't in the scared gove? Is that not where the old Forest Temple was? You have to remember too, the old Forest Temple was more like an old mansion. The new Forest Temple is totally different.

Another thing I'm also trying to figure out is, why was the Temple of Time in the Forest? How could a whole Temple including Master Sword...Move so far away from Hyrule Castle? Then what another 50 years later in WW, The Temple of Time moves back to Hyrule Castle?

Nintendo really likes to mess things up.

Re: Forest Temple - Odd one out?

In my opinion TP takes place after the events after the events in Ocarina of Time (adult timeline) and Ganon kinda destroyed the castle so it's possible that they rebuilt a new one in new territory.

Doesn't explain why some things are where they are currently though.

Snowpeak anyone???

Re: Forest Temple - Odd one out?

On why Snowpeak is in the north.
If Termina is on the opposite side of the "Hyrulean globe" (lets just assume Hyrule is round for a second) then Snowpeak could be the top of the planet, making it the north of all things. So on one side of the planet you have Hyrule with Snowpeak the highest point, and then directly opposite Hyrule on the globe you have Termina with Snowpeak the highest point -
This would explain when Link travels through the magic tunnel in the very beginning in some forest of Hyrule (anybody know which one by any chance?), why it twists and turns upside down because you are in fact, by some ancient magic (it's always ancient magic if it's a forest in Zelda) traveling to the opposite side of the world!

The movement of the temple of time I cannot explain though... All I can think is that - the ruins of the temple were moved by magic (ancient forest magic woo) or are not actually 'there' if you understand me. The forest really has some deep and dark magic that will never be understood. It housed the Kokiri kids, the deku tree and others but there's a scarier darker side like the skull kid, the portal to Termina, the lost woods, innocent men turning in to Stalfos never to return to the land of light and the list goes on. What if the Temple only appears to be in the woods by magical convention, this kind of thinking is really tough on the cranium so I can't go on right now. I think you can understand me ... almost. If the ruins are truly there though - Hyrule castle could not have once been there... Lake Hylia would then be north-west of it! And Death Mountain would be to the North East? Oh ... wait.. Death Mountain in the north east does make a little sense...

Re: Forest Temple - Odd one out?

I am assuming that the "New" forest temple was inside the dead Deku Tree. Perhaps it was Hyrule Castle that moved. In TP the castle was in the center of Hyrule and in OoT it was in the North east.

Those things aren't really worth worrying about.

If it is something you really think is messed up then look into Ordon and Faron woods and their placement with Kokiri Woods/Lost woods/uncharted woods etc.

Re: Forest Temple - Odd one out?

Hmmmm... The name bothers you? It is a temple in the middle of the forest so what's wrong with that? I suppose it isn't exactly a temple however if we look at it as being the forest's temple rather than being one for the people then the forest temple is indeed owned by the inhabitants of the forest - the monkeys and could be their place of worship. Hmm..

Termina was a completely different realm, so snowpeak doesn't exist in Termina.. snowhead does however. The explanation for similar, but not identical, locales goes back to the idea that (possibly) when Hyrule was created the essence of creation slipped through the cracks of time and created unlimitted amounts of worlds, all very similar, or just possibly a few more. The characters from MM mirror those from OoT even. With this we can nearly assume that there is a Lake Hylia mirror in Termina (maybe called Lake Termina) or mirror of many other things as well... but maybe not, who knows.
