Re: I cant belive there was no Magic!
Why don't you just go complain to nintendo that TP wasn't what you wanted, and they should change it till it meets your personal preferances. Seriously this goes to everyone who complains about the smallest detailes about TP. Grow up. nintendo can't make the exact game you expected so live with that amazingness that is TP. If you can't enjoy that game because Ganondorf had a small roll, or because link is right handed give me a break. you all piss me off to no extent bashing twilight princess like thism, just because it was diffrent then your expectations it was still a kick ass game so live with it.

Well no one ever needs rupees. So this is a way to make them useful for something.

and ya i agree, i really like the idea of the magic armor, link looks pretty bad ass in it, and it gives a reason to actually have rupees! now, if only the game was difficult enough to require it... |

Re: I cant belive there was no Magic!
I didnt mind. A deku leaf wasnt too exciting. nor was the magic powers from OoT. Farores wind was basicly replaced with the far superior creature that is the Ooccoa. Dins fire I only used against shadow link in the water temple and I never used Nayrus love ever.
What is there really to miss? |

Re: I cant belive there was no Magic!
You want to know what's lame? There is a magic meter screenshot on the back of every TP box. I mean...WTF?

Dins fire was the best magic item, EVER. You could start fires, destroy those bits of wood in the Shadow Temple. Totally pwn a whole pile of enemies. Not to mention looking totally kick ass. Nayrus Love was good against strong enemies, but I never used Farores wind. All in all, the magic meter should of been in TP.

Re: I cant belive there was no Magic!
Every TP box is an over assumption it's not on the GC box I just checked and if that pic was on the box why would it be so large? I have the almost same pic on my GC (has 1 heart instead of 4 and the left hamded Link is in but other than that it is THE SAME same pose and everything) but yah I missed the Fire, Ice and Light arrows and I loved going into the Kokori Forest and burning stuff. I n ever realy used Farore's Wind except one time I got bored in the water temple so warped out.

Plus Din's Fire is a requirement for OoT, how else are you to enter the Shadow Temple?

Re: I cant belive there was no Magic!
Good point but the overall moral of the story is Din's Fire is kickass! But TP is a great game even without all the fancy flashy magicy stuff but it would have been nice to see the fancy flashy magicy stuff in those graphics (the light probably would have given people some siezures but LIVE WITH IT!) I'm at The City in the Sky and I'm really quite challenged with it.

I the think I like most about Din's Fire is that Ninja Jutsu style way in which he executes it.

Re: I cant belive there was no Magic!
Well you also have to think: What items do you honestly think that could be used with magic? Magic Armor, Lanturn, Dominion Rod, and Gale Boomerang (when it's powered up). Now think how many times throughout the game do you really use those items? Is the Magic Armor strictly needed at one moment of the game? I know the Dominion Rod is used a few times in a dungeon or two, but it is really enough to have it supplied by a Magic Meter?
Just because a game doesn't have a magic meter, doesn't make it any worse than another item. 5 out of the 13 Zelda games that have been released have a magic meter, so it honestly doesn't mean that it is crucial in a Zelda game. Yes, magic does take place, but it isn't needed. As for the Light/Fire/Arrow arrows, how close do you want this game to be related to OoT? tWW had Fire/Ice/Light Arrows, live with that. One thing I did like about TP (I've only seen videos, pictures, and reviews) is that the enemies have an item that the hero doesn't: Fire Arrows. Heck, if it was my choice, I'd also give them Ice Arrows aswell. Why? Because it will be a challenge. I love it when the hero has the disadvantage and he comes out on top. -BGS

Re: I cant belive there was no Magic!
Exactly, the Dominion Rod would have been alot harder to use if it drained magic, if the lanturn used magic there would be no use for Lanturn Oil (when I got AttP I was like Magic Lanturn? Why not just use oil?) the Magic Armor isn't even required to beat the game (it's still cool though) and the Gale Boomerang is forgotten about 20 minutes after you get it. I was actually happy the game wasn't just OoT with a different name and altered plot I'm gald this game didn't need to copy everything from OoT to be a great game and *gasps for breath* I really wanted a challenge after TWW (a 3 hour playthrough is truely pathetic woulnd't ya say?)

Re: I cant belive there was no Magic!
I could careless about the magic, in fact I was pleased to see a game that didn't use it. Don't ask me why, but that's just my opinion

Re: I cant belive there was no Magic!
TP was a great game, but I think the reason so many people (me included) were slightly disappointed with it is because it broke so many traditions. TP is the first game with a right-handed Link, TP is the first 3D Zelda without a magic meter, TP is the first game with no Octorocs...
The list goes on. My point is, although TP is an excellent game of itself, the amount of traditions it broke and how unconnected to the rest of the series it feels is what causes people to grumble about it.
