Re: I cant belive there was no Magic!
Didn't matter to me. I rarely used the spells in OoT, and the Magic Arrows were becoming repetitive. Maybe if they changed something about how they'd be used, but what more could they do with them? It was nice to see something different with the items. In the end, it also makes Link feel a lot more like a warrior, someone who realies simply on physical weapons and skill.

Re: I cant belive there was no Magic!
The lack of magic made no difference to me, I just thought it was odd since every other Zelda has had magic as far as I can remember. I liked how you needed oil for your latern, and I think that sort of thing is the future for Zelda games. I think we might see more items that require specific things to keep it running instead of the generic "magic" that we've seen in the past.

Because we all know Link makes an awesome ninja, especially with his new hawkeye/bow skill. Seriously, I miss the fire/ice/light arrows. One of the cool things about the ice arrows in Majora's Mask was making little icebergs to jump across on the water. Although the only really big body of water was Lake Hylia, it still would have been kinda cool to do that again.

Re: I cant belive there was no Magic!
Jesus whats up with the magic, why are they complaining only about TP that has no magic?
What about the Gameboy colour games LA, OOA and OOS plus the origonal didn't have it either. So really it doesn't matter if they don't have a magic bar in it. The only main thing I didn't like about Zelda (well the Wii version, not sure about the GC version) was the sword spin, Link doesn't hold his sword out then does a spin attack he just does it. But besides that this game is just bloody awesome and besides that one minor thing I could just go back playing the game again and again. |

Re: I cant belive there was no Magic!
Eh I don't see any complaining here. It's very odd that there's no magic, after being a staple for so long. It does help to make the title unique and I never missed it. Plus most of us will be pleasantly suprised when a Zelda game comes out with a returning magic bar...and I'm sure it will.

Re: I cant belive there was no Magic!
I hope they find an AR code to re-enable magic in TP. Maybe you would have to make Blue potion also fill magic like it usually does.

Re: I cant belive there was no Magic!
Just a quick thing here, Fire Arrows have item ID in Twilight Princess Item #53 is Fire Arrow they took it out of the game (sadly). Also there are Octorks (look in Goron Mines there are Fire Octorks in a Secret Grotto there are water octorks) also there was an item called Magic Potion but it was taken out like the magic bar. GC version has left handed LInk.

Re: I cant belive there was no Magic!
These are what i consider magic in TP:
1. Controlling statues with the rod 2. Turning into wolf 3. Using the Magic Armor Besides, just cause Link isn't running around shooting Fire/Ice/Light Arrows everywhere doesn't make this game bad. He's just doing the same exact thing the other Links did, only he's doing it his way. |

You have the Wii Version which means everything is mirrored. In the GC Link is left handed. Also, magic meter does not mean the game sucked in anyway, the whole combat system makes up for that easily. Actualy there might not have been the traditional Octorocks, however there are 2 monsters that are just like them. One is in some Grotto thing where you dig as a wolf to find a underground cave thing,(like in OoT how you lifted a rock/bombed the area) several monsters jump out of the water and shoot at you, then the one in Goron Mines where they come out of the lava and shoot at you. may have a new name, but deep down its a Octorock. Also there WERE light arrows in TP, only you never got to use them. Go back to the horseback battle with Ganon and you will see. Besidest he Fire arrows would probably look somewhat the same as the Moblin things that shoot fire arrows you. Ice Arrows were pointless in OoT they were in there just for the fun of it. Besides bomb arrows are cooler then fire arrows any day. TP may lack what you may call 'traditional' style of Zelda. However I see lots of people annoyed with the 3 items hunt then another hunt for some other items like in alttp/OoT/tWW/TP. Personaly I dont mind this. TP for me set some new standards for the Zelda series, even more so if there is a horse in the game. |
