Do i need a gamecube controller and memory card to play GC games

do i need them?
i wanted to get WW and FSA.
But if i have to spend 50$ and the cost of the games then theres no point. Can i use the retro controller?

You need a gamecube controller. Its a must. The memory card is optional... that is unless you want to save your game data.

Edit: Also, from what I know, the retro controller cannot be used.

u only need memory card if u want to load&save games, and u need the controller

do you have a gamespot nearby? i bought a 2 pack of their memory cards for about $10-15. also look around the used gamestores for good deals on used gamecube controllers. ive gotten a couple of the actual nintendo ones for about $10 a piece.

Didn't yours come with its own controler and memory card?
Mines did. Bought it at Sam's Club.

i baught a Wii, my gamecube had a little acident and its gone now (dont ask).Thanks guys.... maybe i have a memory card laying around some where.

you need both but if your not going to get that many GCN games than just get a cheap 10$ one I got the GCN when it was released so I have a 1019 block one but since the GCN is dying than just get the 10$ one.

thanks, i found a memory card in my sisters room. Apperentaly I gave it to her for her game saves. what ever, now all i need is a controller.
