Which guide is the best for twilight?

I know that many don't like guides and I don't use them unless im stuck. Sometimes after I beat the game I like to see the art work, the maps the stuff I missed.

Just an honest opinion,

The official nintendo guide, or the Prima?

The nintendo guide is like 190 pages and the prima is like 300 I havent seen them.

Anyone seen them? which one is better?

Re: Which guide is the best for twilight?

Meh, why buy one? (had to be said)

Play as much as you can and only use the internet as a last resort... if you have a guide ready it'll just be too easy to read and you'll give up on challenges you could do yourself.

Re: Which guide is the best for twilight?

Well, I have allready pre-ordered the prima collector's edition, because of sentimental purposes. Also for the fact of finding secrets on my 2nd or 3rd play through. Why the prima guide? Because the collector's edition comes with a huge cloth overworld map, amazing custom maps of every dungeon. Also note it is 450 some pages. I am ussually not a fan of nintendo's guides either. They seem rushed, un-detailed and have little art.

Re: Which guide is the best for twilight?

Thanks, I have read about that too. The nintendo guides always seem to be very simple in nature and very short when i comes to the map department. Its like Someone just just drew a small maze and then colored it.

The only reason I asked is sometimes the prima guides are are either HIT or MISS.

They can either be really good or bad.

thank again Ill probably get that one.

If you order the Nintendo guide online, you get a free soundtrack, too. So that's the one I ordered.

Is it possible to get primas guide in Australia. That would be awesome... 450 pages...

Re: Which guide is the best for twilight?

I have the nintendo guide and its not a bad walkthrough but the maps kinda suck. My favorite guide is the VersusBook Guide for OoT. I wish they made one for TP in the same way they did OoT. That would be sweet. But on the plus side the nintendo guide is laid out nice and has plenty of detail and tips. I think the maps are just lacking a little, otherwise it looks good.

Re: Which guide is the best for twilight?

In my experience with guides Versus Books and Prima are the best (though Prima guides often have spelling mistakes or mistaken information)

Re: Which guide is the best for twilight?

I just went to www.primagames.com and the desciption for the TP guide looks really detailed. It's 400-plus pages and it has exclusive maps for every dungeon.

Re: Which guide is the best for twilight?

Primas Guide: $30
Nintendo Power Guide: $15

I always found primas guides to be hit or miss. Some are really good and some are really hard to follow and understand. But this one comes with a cloth overworld map and seems to be over twice as big as the Nintendo guide hence twice the price?

Actually, Prima's Collectors Edition guide is $19.99, if you by it off of Amazon.com

Re: Which guide is the best for twilight?

I have some Prima strategy guides for Final Fantasy VII and VIII, and they rock. Usually official guides suck in my opinion. They're short and don't offer a lot of specific information or information about side quests. The official guides are always shorter than the Prima ones. Twilight Princess though, offers an official guide that is pretty big from what I've seen. I got it because that's all they had when I got Twilight Princess. I heard that the Prima guide offers a really cool cloth map of Hyrule, and all the official guide offers is a poster. That's good enough for me, I just couldn't wait long enough heh. I'd strongly recommend getting the Prima strategy guide. They always seem to be solid.

Re: Which guide is the best for twilight?

Nintendo Power's Guide is terrible. Don't get it. They never go in depth, there isn't much artwork, and they don't recommend sidequests in the main walkthrough. Anything not part of the main quest is relagated to the appendix. It is a really bad guide.

I should've known. Listen to aeternus aura. Don't buy official.

The NP guide is really basic when it comes to the walkthrough. The Temple maps are very basic, and so are the descriptions. The Prima guide sounds like it is going to be detailed in every area, so I would get that one.

This guide is a limited collectors edition one that ships early December. I'm not much on guides but this thing just looks sweet. It's hardcover and the maps are made of cloth. Might have to pick me up one just for keepsake.
