TWW Commercial

ok...around December 2002, a commercial for TWW came out. It had this hooded girl in a cloak and she was telling this story about Link, while showing clips from the game. She said that he went on this big adventure just to save her. At first I thought it was Zelda talking...then I remembered that Link didn't go on THIS adventure to save Zelda....he did it to save his sister, Arryl. So, could this have actually een Arryl talking?

Re: TWW Commercial

I think your right there tetra_zelda, because she did say that he had to save her. And in the game Link has to save his sister. I think that is what the advertiseing agent wanted them to convey. Im not sure but thats what i think. :p

Re: TWW Commercial

Yeah, you are probably right that it was Aryll talking. I mean, Zelda was never really captured, at least when comparing her capture to the zelda in OOT. and your mission to save Zelda never came about until the few last hours of the game.

Re: TWW Commercial

That commercial was a lie. It had a dark feeling that was never in the game. And it said "In the land of Hyrule there echoes a legend". Nice for the MM reference, but so little of the game takes place in Hyrule 9or on land for that matter) that it seemed like false advertising to me. And yeah, it's probably Aryll. It seemed like that girl was very young, and I thought Zelda was older than Aryll.

Re: TWW Commercial

At first, i thought the hooded girl was Zelda....Then again, she was in a really high tower, So, probably she was Aryll in the Forsaken Fortress.

But, why was this girl wearing a cloak?

Re: TWW Commercial

To amke it seem all dark and mystifying I guess.....

I say its Aryll, mainly because it seemed like Nintendo didn't want ya to think Zelda was even in it until you actually found out in the game.

Re: TWW Commercial

Here's the exact transcript from the dialogue, as taken from http://www.zeldauniverse.net/z10.php...ercialsandadds :

Quote:
"In the land of Hyrule
there echoes a legend:
A legend held dearly by the royal family,
that tells of a boy who became a man.
He embarked on a great journey
through the deepest, darkest corners of thee earth
battling the forces of evil
testing the limits of his will
all to fulfill his destiny
which is, above all else
to save
me."

Re: TWW Commercial

Yeah. I never had a clue that it was Zelda because I thought that she wasn't in the game until then. But Then I thought(because I had seen pictures before), why was Aryll wearing a cloak? What was the point? They couldn't have dressed her in that blue dress, put her hair in pigtails and voila? No. They had to confuse everybody. I personally think that commercial was stupid..

Re: TWW Commercial

Nerp.... I think Nintendo wanted us to think that this game was going to be in Hyrule again and that the girl in the cloak was Zelda.... The reason I think that is becuase one day during my art class, while we were making collages, I came across an advertisement for TWW, feauting a mountain and a castle, seperated by a valley. On the top of the mountain it said "you", at the top tower of the castle it said "her", and in between them, in the valley, it said "them".... I still have it, I can try and get a scan of it though, if you guys wanna see it....

Re: TWW Commercial

The Great Sea, technically, IS Hyrule (well, on top of Hyrule, anyway), so I don't feel cheated since I actually enjoyed the Great Sea. For some reason, the advertisers were afraid of conveying the game in its actual presentation; a large, life-filled adventure with great exploration, excellently capture personalities, and a great new fighting style. What did they try and show? A mysterious plot (and they barely showed video clips of the game). Yep. I can't stand video game advertisements lately, since very few video clips are shown anymore (like the Mario Kart Double Dash commercial).
