TP Hype Thread II: The Revenge!!!

September 11, 2006 - The IGN message boards have run abuzz with allegations from a poster that Nintendo is seeking 150 people to begin packing finished Wii consoles as soon as Tuesday.

Directly from the Nintendo job posting:

might be a sign, that the wii is releasing earlier the we think, meaning october is still a possible month for the wii to be released.

Maybe. I think that since everybody's saying that it might exceed OoT, they might be worried that it can't do that. They don't want to disappoint every one and hav ea gamm that doesn't do so.

I disagree, nintendo, and especially myamoto, never over hype for fear of dissapointing thefans. They know The importance of their long term reputation, and because of this I'm actually beginning to believe it all. That it will all be on time and that it will be the true sequal to ocarina of time, securing itself the nickname "the best game ever 2".

When you say TP will be the "true sequel" to OOT, do you mean sequel to the story of OOT or sequel as in matching it's greatness and popularity?

I meant mtaching it's greatness and popularity, and from what I can tell it's themes too. I loved MM just as much as OOt as far as gameplay was concerned, but OOt had an epic feeling that i don't feel any other game has come close to achiveving before or since. So when I say the ture sequel, i mean in the spirit of what OOt was really about, mand why it is reveered the world over.

I'm willing to bet that At least a third of everyone on ZU didn't get into zelda til OOT arrived, and those whowere already into it felt that OOt was a turning point for the series. I believe TP is the game that we have all been waiting for to take another great stab at the epic grandeur of what we know zelda is capable of, before it evolves on a new platform to take us into new territory.

Edit - Wow, i just realised, that's probably the most patriotic thing i've ever said.

Nice post, and I agree with everything you said. I actually think the Wii version of TP is going to evolve the series and take it into new territory already. Nintendo is going to surprise us with the controls for the Wii version and I really think they are taking full advantage of the controller. The sword play is now motion-sensored and I can only imagine what Nintendo has come up with for the horse/wolf controls.

Even though TP started as a GCN title, we all know that it has evolved as a Wii title as well. Nintendo has put a ton of effort into this game and I believe they have put just as much effort into the Wii controls as everything else. Besides the graphics (because we know that the Wii can handle graphics better than the GCN), TP should be a full-fledged Wii game as well as gamecubes last game and greatest game.

I agree I don't know why but that epic feeling I still have not found in another Zelda title. MM and WW all had that sort of feeling but not thesame as OoT .

I don't know what's more annoying. THAT or Navi's constant bickering...o_0. Had to hold my urge to punch the monitor. LoL...Nothing gets me more hyped about TP than hearing Link repeatedly beg for the princess's pardon. Now we know why Link never speaks ;-) heh heh...

Wow. Just think, in less than 24 hours, Iwata een bom zal droppen. It may happen before I even get home. Are you people hyped? What will be shown? Release date? Trailer? Demo? I must admit that I am hyped. Bomzaldroppenton starts tomarrow.

I think we're all setting our hopes to high for this event. there'll be the price/release date of the wii. We're all assuming/hoping that TP is still set for a release with the Wii (it would have to be, seriously). This will likely be the only thing revealed. Unless, of course, I am underestimating the scale of this event. If it's as big as Nintendo says it it, there should be a new demo and trailer. But all companys have a tendancy to overhype events...still, I don't think we should be expecting a demo of all things.

Well hold on just a second....maybe there will be a demo of TP. This excerpt comes straight from IGN Wii's very own Matt C........."There are a wide number of games that will be playable at this event. Obviously, the big ones from Nintendo, including Zelda, Mario and Metroid, no doubt." IGN will be at the events and Matt C will be at the event in New York tomorrow. He seems to think Zelda will be playable, so lets hope he's right.

I would be more than happy if all the did was announce the release date and the price of the Wii and confirm that TP is a launch game. Showing us how the new controls work would be a plus but I don't have to have another trailer.

It'll actually be starting at 8pm est. And i'm pretty sure that IGN is going to have staff at all three conferences, so expect news updates over at IGN. Matt C from IGN Wii will be at the conference tomorrow and he said that they would have hands-on impressions of games and regualr updates, so expect some videos as well. He also said that zelda should be at the show.

D'oh! How could I forget the boxart?

Since IGN has some of their staff present we should get the info relayed to us almost immediately. I just hope they get to the good stuff early and not make me stay up too late.
