OoT sinking lure (yes, on GC)

I've been playing OoT (not Master Quest, the original), and I can't seem to find the sinking lure. I've done it billions of times on the N64 version, but I just can't seem to find it here. Is it in one of the same places? Is there some glitch that keeps you from getting it? Did they remove it? Have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?

I believe it is still possible in the Gamecube version. All I remember is that you needed to catch the "Lunker" as an adult, and obtain the gold scale. The lure can be found in three different places if I remember correctly.

1. In/Near/Around the feeder creek.

2. In the grass around the enitre pond. Around the edges.

3. On/Around/Near the big log in the middle of the pond.

I'm going to go try for myself, but I'm sure that should help.

I've NEVER been able to find the sinking lure can you tell me what it looks like?

No, not really. It only looks like that because of limited technology on the N64. In case you don't fish often, I think it's supposed to resemble one of those rubber worms. Useless things, I tell you. Live bait works so much better.

When you go fishing, make sure you don't cast yet. Get the sinking lure first, otherwise it will be missing! Therefore you won't be able to get it.

Is that for each time you enter? Like, if you cast, leave, and enter again, can you find it? Or is it if you cast once, it's gone forever?

Well I've got it plenty of times beforeI don't think it's to hard to fined really. Got it before withought doing anything significant aswell, though not sure of exact location.

It's not gone forever, but it's not in there everytime you go in. There are just some instances where it's not even in there at all. But remember, if you catch a fish with the sinking lure, you won't get anything for it, because he'll think you cheated.

The sinking lure is always there, even after you cast. You're just looking in the wrong places.

Remember it's also in the lily pads.

I found this only once throughout all the times I've played OoT, and that was near the fellen tree. (Or log or whatever you want to call it) So I don't really have too much help to offer But try looking around the log. That's where I found it.

But to be quite frank, it's not even that worth getting it anyway, makes it less fun if you ask me...and the fisherman gets really mad at you as well, although it's quite funny to see I found it funnier nicking his hat. I threw it into the water too Haha

Yeah, that's what I thought it was. I remember playing with those rubber worms when I was like... five.

It also makes sense, as you don't use worms for fly fishing. Using the regular lure and the sinking lure are two different games, IMO.

As for the lure "going missing", I doubt it happens. It took me like a half hour to find it last night, and poor little Link was waist deep in water in the place I found it. It might spawn in a random spot.

That's what I thought, although it won't be under water, it'll be somewhere above the water, as far as I know. ^^. So I'd just suggest looking around for a while, and try spots like the fellen tree, lily pads, and things like that...that's the only advice I got to offer you.

Exactly right, it spawns every time you enter in a different place, but it still is there. If you just want to find it to say youve found it just enter and reenter looking in the same spot till you snag it. (eg. The log sticking out of the water to your left, the source of the freshwater stream by the rocks) It shouldnt be too difficult to find.

I believe it's still there. i found it there once it just harder to find for some strange reason.

I got the sinking Lure once in CE, yes, it is possible to get the Sinking Lure in OoT on the Gamecube, I didn't save the game after I got it though.

Okay I got the sinking lure today, it was around a few rocks by themselves, not around any plants just around some rocks. But I got it a different time somewhere else, so it's definitely randomized.

have you tried looking over where the logs are located?cause that seems where I usally find it.

I THINK I found it in the pool...
