Not that I know of, but there are few staple ones that get applied to most games in the series.

The most common one is the 3 heart challenge, where you play through the game without collecting any extra heart containers.

Then there's the minimalist one where you play through without upgrading the sword (where possible), upgrading ammo capacities (magic power, quiver, bomb bag etc.) or any items that aren't required to beat the game (magic armour, Nayru's Love etc.).

Then there's the more insane 'no sword' game, where you play through without picking up the sword (LOZ) or using it only when required, like darkhamsterlord here. To be even more insane about it, he's not picking up the Lens of Truth - a required item in OOT - good luck getting through the Haunted Wasteland, mate ;-)

The only other I can think are speed runs, where you beat the game as fast as possible. A lot of them involve exploiting glitches to skip entire sections of the game.

My own personal favourite challenge: 3 hearts, no sword upgrades, no capacity upgrades - basically, no upgrades that are permanent, like double defense or magic. Any inventory items that I can pick and choose not use, I pick up for completeness' sake. This is what I consider 'Hard Mode', and it genuinely makes the games more challenging.

I took this one step further recently, doing it with Spirit Tracks on my first playthrough, so that the game was tough while I still didn't know anything about it - so worth it.

Nah, it's not required, you just have to memorize the path through the Haunted Wasteland. I've done it before, when I basically did the same run, but I didn't use the Broken Giant's Knife.

Oh, and that one invisible, moving platform in the Shadow Temple is kind of dumb.

I almost did this, but I changed my mind at the last minute and picked up the first boss' heart container. I figured it would be a waste to skip all the sidequests my first time through, so I just replayed it with three hearts. I also didn't get the Song of Healing or bombs. Not getting bombs made the later Spirit Tower stuff so awesome, since you have to lure Wrecker Phantoms through blocks you have to break with bombs. And if you screw up and get hit they take a full heart away, so you can't let that happen very many times.

Another neat challenge is to beat Majora's Mask in 6 days, Only ever playing the Song of Time when you first learn it as a Deku Scrub. Though I've never actually seen evidence that this is possible.

EDIT: I did it! I just hit them over and over with side swings with the Skull Hammer, and eventually their armor broke. After that, it was easy. The trick was to get them to put their swords down by getting far enough away, then I just ran in, did a side swing, and quickly held R to block their attacks, then ran away and repeated. I only got hit once.

Challenges I've done:
* OoT: 3 hearts, broken Giant's Knife * tWW: 3 hearts, minimal sword use * TP: 3 hearts * PH: 3 hearts * ST: 3 hearts * OoS: 3 hearts * OoA: 3 hearts * MM: 3 hearts *
Challenges in progress:
* OoX: 4 hearts * FSA: 4 hearts, one Link * MM: 6 Days *
(Note that all of the above also had no capacity upgrades and the majority had no bottle use)

To go to the Wind Temple? He's behind the right-hand waterfall. You'll be able to hear him playing his fiddle, and you'll see musical notes coming out of the water. Use the grappling hook to swing into it.

If you are in the temple then yes he will appear on the map. If you lost him from one of the monsters you have to go get him.

Or, he is behind a big cage and you have to go through the temple as far as you can without him and find the object that will get him out of the cage.

Oh, he's IN the Wind Temple. This is why people need to be more specific.

Perhaps you should go to the cannon at Lake Hylia?

Like BPac21 said just go to the cannon in Lake Hylia. Pay 50 rupees and get shot to the desert. Once there make sure you go to the giant structure sticking out of the sand. This will activate a Twilight Messenger battle, which you'll get the portal once they are all dead. Good Luck!

Re: Official Gamecube/Wii Zelda Help Thread

Heloooo all! I'm working on re-beating WW and I have a question. You know after you get into the cave in Gale Isle and you learn the song that you are supposed to teach to the new sage? It says to play it to someone who plays a weapon that looks like the Kokiri ghost guy's. As far as I can tell I need to teach it to that Korok that plays the violin, I forgot his name. But I was playing earlier today and I went back to the Forest Haven to talk to the Deku Tree and he told me that the little Korok guy was preparing a new song and couldn't be found. Where the hell is he? I need to teach him that song!! lol

Edit: Never mind, sorry, I just found the answer a few posts up!! Wow that's funny that someone else was looking for him while I was lol

Stuck in Lakebed Temple without bombs.

Hey. I've got a GC version. I'm stuck in the Lakebed Temple, because I need bombs to go farther. I've used all of them, I checked all chests, went out to find any shop, but I couldn't find any. Is there any way I can get some bombs? I don't want to start the game from the beginning.

As for your question, you can leave the Lakebed Temple and buy bombs from one of the Zoras just right outside the Temple.

Re: Official Gamecube/Wii Zelda Help Thread

If I remember correctly, Barnes should be selling water bombs by this point, too. It's a bit of an annoyance how bombs need to be purchased or found in limited amounts throughout the game- especially when you've surmounted a hidden obstacle in a dungeon only to find bombs to kill the Stalfos right outside.

Tingle statue in TWW

Okay,so you know the little booklet about the Tingle Tuner-Gameboy Advance connectity that came with The Wind Waker?Well if you look at the top right hand corner of the third page,there's a picture of Link holding a tingle statue up in the air,and a note at the bottom of the screen that reads,"You got the forbidden Tingle statue!It's covered in sticky sap.Give it to Tingle."I have been trying to find it since I got the game,and have yet to find anyone who has found it or any guide that lists its location.The only clues I have are the dead grass in the background and Link only has 4 hearts.Both of which point to the second dungeon,the Forbidden Forest.Anyone know more, or, better yet, has anyone found it?

Re: Official Gamecube/Wii Zelda Help Thread

I think there is more than one.

They are in the dungeons and you need the tingle tuner to get them. You have to bomb a certain spot and you get a treasure chest with it in it.

Then they appear on tingle's island.

I'm pretty sure there is a Tingle Statue in each dungeon. So when you go to each dungeon, move the Tingle Tuner around the rooms, and click on each ! mark to see if Tingle found something. If you go to Tingle Tower, you will notice 5 or so flat circular rock pads. Those are where your collected Tingle statues go. They don't have a particular purpose, just something extra and to get a second player involved in WW. I'd love to tell you where each is exactly, but I can't find my Gameboy connector cable. So unfortunately you'll have to search on your own (or Google it). But that's fun too, right?
