Ganon oddities

I noticed a couple odd things about our sinister villain in the Windwaker. This isn't major, but something I found odd. Throughout the game, many of the people or things that explain to Link about Ganon tell him that Ganon is a wizard. Yet, never once in the game is he shown using magic. I mean all he does for battling is punchin' ya around, and then in the last fight he does some sword play and a lil kung fu kicks. I think it would've been a little better if they made him throw some energy blasts at ya or shot a few lightning bolts from his sword.

Here's the main thing I'd like to point out. Anyone notice that Ganon put on a few pounds? I mean seriously he got a beer belly!! Look at him man that thing can put on eye out if he's not careful!! Dude I think Ganon should've used that in the final battle! Man he would've whupped Link and Zelda with that blob of fat!!

Re: Ganon oddities

It maybe would've but in my opinion... No... Think about it. I think it was a good turn around for the series. Plus Ganondorf IS a Gerudo and Gerudos use swords. Think about it. They could add Gerudos into the sequal now. If Ganondorf had 2 swords than it must be there for a reason.

Re: Ganon oddities

Well, I really didn't care. I loved the idea of the swords, I found that to be the best final battle of any Zelda game. I was just a bit surprised to see that he used no magic throughout the entire game.

Re: Ganon oddities

So... I loved TWW. It's just that he didn't use magic maybe because he is a gerudo. As you may have noticed in OoT gerudos don't use magic either.

Re: Ganon oddities

The reason Ganondorf looks so big is because of the clothing he is wearing. The reason Ganondorf didn't use any magic in the final battle is because Nintendo didn't want the final battle to be like the one from OoT, they wanted it to be different.

Thats what I think. They didnt want people to complain that the battle was the same as in OoT. I actually liked Ganon with the swords though!

Re: Ganon oddities

Me too katiiz.

Ah forget the editing in I'll just make this new post. Okay, here's a pic of Ganon~

Now, I seriously doubt it's because of his clothing that he's got the beer belly. Because first of, if it did, that's the most bizzar robe I've ever seen. And second, how in the world could it even do that? I think the only way for i to extend like that is for Ganon's stomach to extend. Comments?

Re: Ganon oddities

I think he got fat...cause if it was the huge robes then i think it'd be pretty hard to do all the jumping he does in the battle. Then again how could he do all that jumping if he was so fat?

Re: Ganon oddities

First of, awesome sig OniLink, second off, there is no way he could jump with his clothes so huge and awkward. It'd be like him doing ballet with an elephant straped to his back. Also I think he has normal sized legs, because look at loose and not bulgy the robe is at the bottom.

Re: Ganon oddities

Yah, his legs look normal sized...they dont even look fat, so I dont think there could be any muscles. And you can tell Ganon is fat. He has a huge chest, and I dont think stiff clothes could make your chest look huge like that.

Re: Ganon oddities

Ganon probably used his dual swords because Link had the Master Sword. Having your ego completely crushed isn't great, so he felt he needed to make up for his defeat.

Re: Ganon oddities

The reason that he is "fat" is because of the fact that the game is cartoonish. They wanted the fat-ness to symbolize the hugeness of his ego, powers, etc.

Re: Ganon oddities

Good point, Dr. Z. He probably didn't want to be up staged, especially after he had just lost his only chance in hundreds of years to rule Hyrule.

Now, as for the Ganon wiard thing, Ganon did actually use some magic, just not while battling you. He created the storm, the barrier between his tower and Hyrule, and he created Phantom Ganon and all those other monsters.

He just didn't use magic in the battle because, as stated, they wanted the battle to be different. I think they did that pretty well.

Finally, the beer belly. Regardless of whether it's fat or robes, it's just to show his transformation from a Gerudo theif to an evil wizard. As for the jumping, remember, Ganon HAS shown that he can levitate (OOT Ganondorf battle). I don't think jumping would be hard for him, even with all that extra weight.

Re: Ganon oddities

Good point on the swords, and true with the magic, although I meant magic as in lightning bolts and dark energy blasts. And also with the fattness, those theories are also probably true, nice ideas.

And I never dissagreed on the jumping thing Oni-Dante, in case that was the notion you got.

Re: Ganon oddities

I know you didn't disagree, I was just stating what I thought about it. Actually, my first theory was that Ganon was wearing springed shoes, but then I thought magic made more sense.

Re: Ganon oddities

Ok, this is probably why Ganon has become such a ...odd, character now. Nintendo wanted change. That (as you all should know by now) is the reason for him not using magic in the Final battle. They wanted him to have a look of wisdom and age. If you ever noticed he never really seemed to dementedly evil, like he did in OOT. In OOT, killing everyone and taking over the entire world seemed to be his fetish. He had a different attitude toward all that in WW. Thus, he was wise and not the foolish and arrogant ...um...bad guy, he was in OOT.
