Maybe Link's Tunic is Special

Hi guys I haven't been on for a loooonnng time but I'm back at least for this one post. So anyway down to the threads meaning.

I think that Link's tunic gives him the power to turn into the wolf. And here is my reasoning. The first time he goes into the Twilight Realm he doens't have his tunic and we don't know whether he turns into the wolf or not. But from the E3 trailer it seemed that the second time he went into the Twilight Realm he looked like he didn't know he was going to turn into the wolf. It looked from the E3 trailer like that was the first time he became a wolf while going into the twilight realm. So no tunic the first time = not turning into a wolf and having a tunic the second time = turning into a wolf. Also to back up my theory a bit more Eiji stated that Link has a special gift that let's him and only him turn into an animal in the twilight realm. I think this special gift could be link's tunic.

The only problem is that in an interview I've read, EA says that when he first enters the Twilight he becomes a wolf, and is captured...

So I guess I'll spend the next few hours going through the older interviews...

EDIT: Whew! well I found the interview at least... only problem is that it's not too specific with things... It just says that when Link enters the Twilight he becomes a wolf... It mentions nothing about the tunic or if he needs it... I think the tunic is there only because it's the traditional garb of our favorite hero... which would be Link, of course

*Ahem* I'm pretty sure that the term 'gift' was a figure of speech. In an obscure article somewhere that I found linked to on ZU, Eiji implies that there is a plot-related reason Link turns into a wolf. He also confirms that Link is the only one who changes shape in the Twilight Realm. My personal theory is that it has something to do with the Triforce mark on the back of his left hand. It would make a lot of sense.

But what makes you think that was the first time Link entered the Twilight Realm? Perhaps they skipped the first time, showing instead a short bit from a cutscene that we will see whenever Link enters the Twilight, then following it with the little "escape from the castle" bit which actually happened earlier in the storyline?

Yeah i agree with Weilder of the Sword, infact i even started a whole thread about Link turning into a wolf and its correlation with the triforce mark on his hand. Link having a magic tunic that turns him into a wolf in the twilight realm seems not only farfetched, but also...well...dumb. Im not knocking your idea cuz it makes alot of sense, i just think its cliche and nintendo wouldnt do something as corny and overused as that. However, usually 3 people get the mark on their hand and that would mean Zelda and probably Ganon would change in the twilight realm too, but Aunuma said only Link changes, so you could be right about the whole tunic idea, but i hope not!
