Interesting, but I don't think that's his role; if he were that important he'd surely have a more interesting design. Perhaps he's constructing something that uses some force of the Twilight or something... right. But then again, if he's just a random quirky NPC, why is he right at the beginning of the trailer? He's suspicious, that's for sure.

Also, someone at Zeldablog.com suggested that the place Wolf Link visits with all the glowing runes may be the place to which you bring whatever special artifacts you may get at the end of the major dungeons.

Good point.
To people saying that TP is getting too similar to Metroid and losing the Zelda feel, I can understand that view, but look at this image again:
http://www.thehylia.com/coppermine/c...bum=265&pos=30
Pure Zelda. Much of the new media is remniscent of Metroid, but the scifi-ish elements don't mean the Zelda feel is fading. TP is blending fantasy and sci-fi, and the end result should be wonderful.

IGN updated its TP image gallery with screenshots from the demo. (I love the Gale Bommerang's new design.)

The trailer was added to the TP GCN video page, but not the TP Wii one.

Gametrailers also updated its TP page with the new trailers.

Re: The Twilight Princess Hype Thread

the new smash bros looks so damn beautiful.....that trailer is the best think to come out of E3. Better then TP (so far) and Mario Galaxy.

Also, does anyone agree. The upgrade of the Gale Boomerang should be called.

THE BIG ASS BOOMERANG!!

Bengan, that would be the ideal format but I somehow doubt that Nintendo will do that...it seems May the 11th was a slow day for Wii and Zelda

Balrog Boss Footage

Gamecube Cafe posted over seven minutes of footage of the Goron Mines demo, which includes the "Balrog" boss battle at the end.
I didn't watch the end since I don't want another boss battle spoiled for me, but I listened to the music, which was pretty good.

Re: The Twilight Princess Hype Thread

Why did they change Link's voice (sounds like an american voice actor now), what's wrong with the other one? I'm gonna miss the other voice, I mean he has had that voice for eight years...

The new voice is... not Link-like imo.

Re: The Twilight Princess Hype Thread

I would think that at the end of the battle in the Goron Mines, where the Balrog thing dies, the twilight particles that flew off of it were just what was surrounding the creature inhabiting the boss: A Goron. It is difficult to tell, but look at the boss after it falls, and the figure looks distinctly Goron-ish. This also reminds me of the spider cap on the monkey that fell off and blew apart after that battle--it would seem the twilight infects otherwise good beings and corrupts them. So...what is Midna's relationship with Link exactly?
On another note--I really hope the actual battle isn't that easy. I know they said that the demo version was dumbed down for people at E3 who hadn't played a Zelda before, but that fight was almost ridiculous. I think him hitting you directly with his chain and sending you flying across the room was what...half a heart? I think I'm gonna need to hear the "beep-beep" of being close to death a lot in this game to be satisfied.

Re: The Twilight Princess Hype Thread

Mmm... that fishing video and the GCN TP trailer were really fabulous. Everything else was just... meh. I must've wasted 30 hours of my life fishing in OoT, and the new fishing system looks even better, so that's good. The GCN trailer is beautiful and super and I truly rofled when those kids were running and I was hearing Chariots of Fire in my head. Great stuff. The Wii trailer was just... okay. Less Zelda and more "omg look it's a guy flailing around unpersuasively with a wiimote." They could've spliced in an old revolution trailer with some wii Zelda footage and it would've been just as exciting.

Wtf is up with that wierd mine place though. Broken record time- it is so un-Zeldaish. Really, it just looks like mechanized crap. Kind of like in the LotR movies where they're chopping down the pure and ancient landscape of Middle Earth (or Hyrule I guess) and using it to build fires and metal things designed to bring about death in a violent manner. Stupid! It looks more like something from Metroid or *insert any sci-fi FPS from the past six months here* I wouldn't be surprised if I saw downed power lines or a chainsaw-wielding hellspawn in that kind of environment.

Re: The Twilight Princess Hype Thread

You should give Nintendo some credit, the mine place was pretty cool, and it looks like it would be a really fun dungeon to play.

Plus it's not becoming that much of a sci-fi game, people, come on! How could you guys even compare Metroid to this game? Even if this game is more technologically advanced than other Zelda games, the machinery of the Goron Mines pretty much consisted of crappy wooden levers and whatnot (except for that magnet, which gets away with it because it looks like so much damn fun to hang from).

I understand you guts because I sometimes worry that this game will make Zelda lose that wonderful Zelda fantasy 'feel' to it. But it doesn't concern me much. If it loses the fantasy 'feel', it'll be replaced by kickass kewlness.

The one thing that intrigues my is why a game centuries before the Wind Waker is so much more tech advanced...

Re: The Twilight Princess Hype Thread

Arggh stop whining about how sci-fi or technological it is. Zelda has always had mechanical stuff in its dungeons, a moving giant magnet is no different to the elaborate mechanized stuff you've seen in the water temple or whatever. Not to mention zelda has always been somewhat technologically andgrogenous, bombs, powder kegs, giant mechanized dungeons, have always been thrown into a semi-medieval setting. I hardly think a magnet and a mine qualifies for turning zelda into the new metroid.

Re: The Twilight Princess Hype Thread

After watching the video over and over agin, I've pretty much come to the conlcusion that the Goron mines demo seen at E3 is not only a condensed version of what will come, but also simply just a large room for players to explore full of puzzles, which makes me beleive that TP will continue that fasion that TWW started, large rooms with more than 1 puzzle, of course with TP most of the puzzles will be hint oriented, with the hints coming in the form of small environmental obscurities, and well, combat will be brilliant.

I've been thinking the whole time that this game seems alot like Metroid Prime 2...
