The Ghostly figures in TP

Does anyone know or have any theories about the ghost type figures and animals in TP that we see in the trailers, are these just enemies or are they a main part of the story?

They make me think of the ones in LoTR...hehehe. I think maybe its either a Link-wolf/Midna ability to see them or maybe they are enemies but I dont know how you kill a ghost...

I've seen a part in the trailer, where the camera is rotating around Wolf-link with Midna on his back, and there is a funny noise and a ghost appears right infront of them

What about all those ghostly rats on Link? Midna looks really scared when they appear. Also i can never tell is Link like chewing on something in that part?

I think - I could be wrong, of course - that the ghosts may be the spirits of Hylian soldiers - or at least, warriors of some kind - who were killed while in the Twilight Realm. Hopefully you won't have to kill them, since it's technically impossible.

maybe his is chewing on one of the rats? I think they must be more than normal baddies as, there is a LOT of stuff on them in the trailers that i have seen

how about they are there to aid you about dangers and foes in the twilight realm and the new ganon?

Actually that is a very good theory, it would make sense as from what i can make out, they are in the twilight arounf Hyrule Castle, the place where the castle guards would be!

Link isnt chewing on anything, he is sofocating.
And maybe its an ability of WolfLink to see death people.

Most probably, but we see him later as normal Link with lots of skeletons coming at him

OK suffocating. That makes sense. I could never tell, all I saw/heard was links head moving and crunchy noises....ok thats some painful suffocating.

exactly, imagin you are walking in your basement and suddenly you feel that you cannot breath... you activate your Wolf-Ability(..... well, maybe not, but you throw flour into the air) and you see the ghost of a fireman choking you... (I said fireman because it was the first thing that popped into my head)

Woo! Good thing I dont have a basement! AH! Ghosts are scary especially since they can choke you! Anyone else glad that its only a video game and youre not really Link? I would have peed my pants....tuinc by then.

I think they're just regular, everyday ghosts trying to kill you. But wait, how can ghosts kill you? They're not solid so they shouldn't be able to hold onto your neck. Then again, maybe I'm overthinking this. It's just a game.

It could be like the thieves town in alttp

They're probably just enemies. It would be interesting if they were part of the story. I'd like to see how all that ends up.

It would be more exciting gameplay if there were actually ghost characters, like a skeleton lord or something, who actually has lines (if it has vocals)

Maybe there will be ghosts in a lot of places throughout the Twilight. Only animals seem to survive and maybe ghosts show up. Or maybe theyre just in that castle part. who knows

I was just thinking that ghosts are metaphors of twilight, they are in the middle of existance, between life and death. Just as the twilight is between day and night.
