Nintendo, forging a new timeline woth LoZGC

I think its clear now that with all of the leaked details about LoZGC that Nintendo is doing something I suspected and starting to forge a new timeline which was created in OoT when Zelda seperated the time period where Ganondorf ruled for 7 years and the timeline where Link was originally a child.

Since the adult timeline is nearly complete with only the Imprisioning War mission between TWW and LoZ they really had no choice but to start building on the child timeline. Thus you see that the Minish Cap and Four Swords were but the first steps laid out in the spirit of Majoras Mask. Set in a timeline where Ganondorf never got hold of the Triforce and the alliance with the King of Hyrule was ruined by the information Link gave to Zelda of the future, he's been forced to take other methods. Indeed we know he covets the land of Hyrule and came into possession of the Trident of Power in 4-Swords but was defeated. So that leaves the door totally open for fresh and inventive storylines.

I personally look forwards to the new Zeldas as they are no longer bound by a storyline that was started over 10 years ago, no more prequels.. just progress.

Wait, I don't see there's any hint whatsoever that the four sword story take place after the OoT story (the MM branch)

I am pretty sure that The Legend Of Zelda GC is set after TWW.

I'm pretty sure the timeline is placed after Wind Waker, I dead remember reading that the game is "Chronologicaly taking place after Wind Waker"....

yeh i'm in agreement. may seem a bit like a cling on holding on for everything oot but i'l love it if it were connected.

i think it will be some more lik oot... thats the best game of the loz games... you check all polls and stuff it always have moust votes..

i reckon that it takes place before TWW as in the beginning of TWW it says the hero does not return. I have heard rumour that in LOZGC link defeats Gannon but gannon comes back again but link doesn't. This could mean that it is the intro to TWW and at the end of LOZGC the gods flood Hyrule and TWW starts.

It must probably take place long after WW, but how would all that water drain out?

I think Nintendo cares a lot less about the continuity than we do, they keep track of it but I think they just make the game they want and fit it into the story afterwards.

i think its the same timeline. oh, and why does everyone believe little link and adult link from oot are different timelines. how would that explain looking for the skullkid (i dont think he looks for navi) in mm after he had to go to the future. link just left, and let adult link take care of things seven years later, than hed come back. and marry malon!!!

Because Link went back to being a kid at the end of OOT in a peaceful Hyrule, but in the WW intro it says "the hero did not appear". This suggest two realities, one being Hyrule where Ganondorf does not rise to power in the OOT timeframe and on being the reality in which Ganondorf took over and was defeated by Link but came back to a world without a hero, the world that WW also takes place in (flooded though).

no, it suggests link was either gone, or links descendants were an old guy and a small child at the time. so noone could save hyrule. sure the little kid might have grown up, after the sea flooded. and who says it was peaceful? sure the castle was there but thats it. everything else was the future hyrule. thats why he left for termina (small portion of the reason anyway), so he wouldnt get in the way of the events that were comig to pass. it doesnt suggest 2 timelines, it merely suggests there was no eligible hero at the time.

At the end of tWW, the king said that he had scattered the seeds of the future. Maybe the new game is based on that.

When the game comes out will all know what happens ,but I think that we get more confused.My oppinion is that the timelines are messed. No one can be really sure after the 4 sword line came out where to put all the games in order . Is the 4 sword the same with the master sword .At minish cap the picori blade was the same with the master sword . Actually I am confused now.

Please, have you not played all the games and read all the theories and logics of the timeline, by then you would be aware of what the Imprisoning War is, yes zeldamaster2008 that could be possible, but how knows until we get more information I guess we can speculate for now but i reckon it wont be long before the logical answers are clear

A possibility that I myself have wondered about was what if Ganandorf came back to power in Majora's Mask. The WW states that Ganandorf came back and no hero arose. Maybe this was when Link was stuck saving Termina and was unable to come to the help of Hyrule. We never know if Link made it back to Hyrule after Majora's Mask.

I thought that that it was confirmed (as I keep seeing this a lot at Nintendo Forums) That MC, and the FS games go before OoT in the Timeline.
