Symbols on people

I´m sorry if this has been pointed out before, but while skimming through some character art of Skyward Sword, I noticed how nearly everybody in Skyloft seems to have his/her own symbol.

And most of the time when two characters are family they share the same symbol. (There are exeptions though)

I just thought that was kinda cool.

That's cool! Some look like their Lofwing symbols and some look like occupational symbols.
Keet's symbol looks like one of those flying centipedes inside the Thunderhead.

Do you have images of Parrow's and Orielle's symbols?

I noticed some of these symbols while playing the game. I wonder what is the reason behind them. Do you have more?

Pipit's mom actually has two symbols. The second one is on her back.

lol those flying centipedes were what I first thought of when I saw Keet's too!

This is neat, it's kinda like a personal symbol for their own loftwing. Here's Parrow and Orielle:

Actually both Orielle and Parrow got more symbol like looking printing on their backs. But of course no one ever takes screencaps of people´s backs.

I got the pictures from flickr, someone from Hystory of Hyrule I sadly dont know who exactly has been posting scans of HH´s artwork pages there. Pretty cool stuff actually : History of Hyrule's photosets on Flickr

These symbols seem to match, at least a few of them, as someone else said....occupationally.

Luv and Bertie's symbol resembles a bottle. (potions)
Gondo's symbol looks like it is tool-shaped (scrap shop)

Keet's definitely resembles the flying centipedes

Karane and Dovos' look like birds
Croo and Fledge's look like bugs

Pipit and His mom......I have no idea.

^Not to mention Owlan's tree and Horwell's...animal looking thing. And Pumm and Kina both have a symbol that resembles a pumpkin. Also, Peatrice has a symbol on her pants, that looks like a lock with wings.

I've been having fun looing at those symbols. I noticed Piper and Gully have matching symbols, but Orielle and Parrow's symbols are slightly different. Makes me wonder if they're actually brother and sister...

When I was playing the game I sketched Pumm and Kina (pum x kin ), I noticed that they wear a symbol for Pumpkin Landing or the Lumpy Pumpkin.

I always thought Owlans symbol looked like Sudowoodo XD

Peatrice and Peater dont have matching symbols either.Peatrice seems to have some lock and key-motive all over her clothes though which might have to do with her occupation. Yeah, it's definitely because of her job. And the idea that it's because of her father's attitude toward keeping her locked away is cute.

Perhaps they are family crests, unless two people who are related have different crests? I haven't checked.

Wow, nice find. How come I never notice this stuff? Well, I just figured out a while ago in my Hero Mode run that the Mogma's are named after metals! With names like Silva and Guld, I really don't see how I missed it the first time around.
