Pipit's Mom/ Pipit Side quest. Your opinion?

So if you've done the side quest where you have to dust Pipit's house and come back later you'll hear Pipit yelling at his mom for spending their bread money on a house cleaner. Do you think he had the right to do that? I for one do, she doesn't work, just stands around in a filthy house all day, then when her own son goes on patrol at night to keep the citizens safe she spend that hard earned food money on Link for cleaning the house. I'm all about respecting parents and such; but she really needed to be hear what Pipit said. What about you?

I think Pipit was being a bit harsh...And it didn't help that Link was the one responsible for their family's problems. I felt a bit guilty actually.

I didn't really like Pipit all that much. I don't really know why; just something about him.

It was an interesting little interaction between NPC's, for sure. Too bad the game didn't expand upon it (or have more things like it).

I felt terrible when that happened. >_<

Pipit is just too good! And then I expected her to learn her lesson or something, so I figured it'd be fun to clean her house again. Maybe for free or maybe she'd say no? But nope! She gave me another red rupee! And I wanted to die.

Oh I definitely felt guilty, bust I was pretty ticked when he got mad at me for eavesdropping saying that I wasn't Mr. Perfect either, it just seemed so out of character for how he'd been acting up until then. But Link's wasn't responsible for his mom not cleaning the house, and she also didn't have to pay Link... But then his mom just blows off what he said to her which really made me angry, and the fact she continues to pay you if you keep cleaning the house. That's what really made me side with Pipit in the situation.

Naw, I get not liking certain NPC's I really don't like Peatrice, and it's not for the "shipping reason" she just kinda irritates me. It really was, and it game depth to their personalities. That's what I liked about SS's sidequests so much. They all focused on the Skyloft residents and I felt they all developed the NPC's more. It's something I'd really like to see more of in future Zelda games.

I know! Aha! When I spoke to her after and she repeated the same lines I knew she'd pay me again so as much as I hate for Pipit to have to live in that pigsty, I refuse to clean it again. I felt that Pipit was entitled to scold his mom, given the circumstances.

It is impossible for the house to get in such a state over night. I would of been angry people spending money to clean the house when that money is needed.

How exactly do people make money in Skyloft? Other than the Bazaar and the Lumpy Pumpkin, where exactly is there a place to be employed and earn money?

Also, I don't understand Owlan's sidequest. He wants a new, rare plant, right? Pretty much anything from the surface should count as rare, seeing as how no one has been down there in the last few hundred years.

Seriously, how much skin does that woman have? Producing that much dust isn't normal.

Personally... I think Pipit had every right to be angry. He works hard and she spends the money he earns on a luxury they can't afford and don't need. I think they should have had a side quest where you get her into cleaning the house herself, or maybe find her her own Gust Bellows to use...

Get that woman Gust Bellows, women love Gust Bellows.

That should keep that house clean, unless she's to lazy to even use that.

Its upsetting to me that a hardworking student has to live with a woman that can only be described by the deadly sin sloth....

You know, she's probably too lazy to do that, now that you mention it.

The only nice thing I can say about her is that it's pretty obvious where her son gets his good looks from.

Going by what LegendofLaura said, if she lived in the same time as Telma, they would probably go out together on the hunt for younger men.

He studies all day and works at night. Mallara should get off her backside and do something for a change. The woman is even more bone idle then I am.

I didn't like both characters. There's something about Pipit that just annoys me, and his mum isn't any different.

What on earth does she do all day? Can't she bother cleaning if she doesn't work?

I loved Pipit. I just thought he was ridiculously cute.

I liked his mother, since she is sweet in an odd way. She's not a bad or malicious woman by any means, but she is incredibly selfish. Pipit works so hard for her, and she just sits around all day and blows his hard earned money on a cleaner, out of laziness.

Not only that, he barely has enough money to pay his tuition fees... and yet she's still blowing his money away. I like her, but the woman needs a good wake up slap. While she's not a bad person, she's being a very bad parent. If you are going to let your child live in an advanced state of squalor out of laziness, the least you can do is not blow his hard earned money on luxuries, especially when you're only just scraping by.

At least Pipit got a girlfriend. I like to think OoT Link is descended from him and Karene.

Exactly! She just continued to leave the house, even if she cleaned just once a week the house wouldn't look how it does!

Being and instructor at the Academy? Or a craftsman like Kukiel's dad?

EXACTLY!!! He fights monsters for a measly red rupee (and who knows how long it takes him to earn that) and she just spends it on a housekeeper? NOT a very good mother...

It makes me sad for Pipit...I wish he just had his own room at the academy,but then he'd probably just worry about his mom and give her money anyway.

He might, but he shouldn't have to, if he's working for food money, the least his mother can do is keep the house clean; y'know?

I think Pipit is the biggest douche in the entirety of gaming history. Seriously. I simply can not stand him and wish there was a way to screw him over somehow in a completely ridiculous way. He ruins Cawlin's chances at getting a girl, only works his night shift for the cash(doesn't even go out and actually kill any of the monsters like Link does), and yells at his mother for spending their money. If he doesn't like the way she does things, can't he just move out like everyone else?
