Do you want to see Midna again?

If Zelda HD really is a sequel to Twilight Princess, do you want Midna to be there? In my opinion, she is the best side kick from all the games.

Well, just discuss your meanings

Well, I don't think that's even possible given the ending of TP. Zelda games really like sealing away/killing off its guides.

Re: Do you want to see Midna again?

Yes, I has noticed that.. But Midna was the best! She did not talk too much, and was a big part of the story compared to Navi or Tatl! I just loved her, and if Zelda HD is going to be the sequel to TP, maybe the Twilight Realm is there!

I know, it’s never gonna happen…

Re: Do you want to see Midna again?

But there's no verification at all that Zelda Wii U is going to be a sequel to TP...

That "game" we saw was actually just a tech demo. Wii U Zelda could be a sequel to Zelda II for all we know.

Re: Do you want to see Midna again?

I know, but I still hope for Twilight Princess. The DT is just a 2D era where they placed all the old games and the AT is finished after the DS games. CT is the main timeline, so the next game will probably come before the timesplit or in CT. That’s what I'm hoping

Re: Do you want to see Midna again?

I agree, Midna is the best guide in the entire series, in my opinion the best and most developed character in the entire series too. I love Midna so I'd be all for her re-appearing again.

I still think a sequel to TP is a possibility. Read the 'development' section of the Link's Crossbow Training article on Zelda Wiki, it states that the development team originally intended that game to be a proper 'side-story' sequel to TP a la MM to OoT, but that idea was scrapped in favour of LCT being a small mini-game type game. I'm sure the team came up with a good number of story ideas for the 'TP sequel' so it's possible those ideas could be taken and developed into a new game in the future, still, it's hard to see how Midna would fit in given TP's ending.

Re: Do you want to see Midna again?

Well OoT Link went to find Navi, and TP Link is seen riding out of Ordon in the ending...

so maybe he went to find a link to the Twilight Realm and find Midna again? Link and Midna at the very least seem very devoted companions (if not outright lovers), so I can imagine Link would want to see her again. She's gone through the same sacrifices and hardships as him, so I imagine he would desperately want to see her again, and she the same. Maybe they could do a game where they find out some way to live in the same universe? Like she ends up being reborn as a Hylian (or a Gerudo since she looks like one to a ridiculous extent) or Link goes to live with her in the Twilight?

Re: Do you want to see Midna again?

Very rarely are Zelda games direct sequels. And TP is really a love it or hate it game with the Zelda fanbase so I doubt Nintendo is going to be making a sequel to it anytime soon.

Yeah, maybe your right! When I read what you had written, I started thinking of a new Termina game, actually… but in this case, I hope Link finds Midna. You know, the Hero of Time never finds Navi..

We don't know that, but it doesn't seem like he does. Nintendo seem to like making the Hero of Time miserable in every way possible, at the moment. I mean finding Navi would probably mean he didn't end up having a 400 year midlife crisis in by the time TP rolled around.

Mind you, Link is fairly restless, and most games end with him riding out on new adventures. (I like to think the ending of the Oracle of Ages manga is him riding back to Holodrum to reunite with Din, the same way I like to think he's going off to find Midna in the end of TP.)

Let’s just hope he finds her! It always seems that he never gets the Girl in the game that he loves (except from SS where he gets two!)

Re: Do you want to see Midna again?

I know, even when the romance is clearly mutual (Tetra, Din, Midna, Marin) we never see any evidence that he closed the deal. Even when he's got just about every attractive female humanoid trying to get into his pants (OoT especially.)

I think that the next Zelda game should be Link and Zelda visiting the Mirror Chamber and they get sucked in and find...something wrong with the Twilight Realm (again).

Nah. She was cool but seeing her again would kinda ruin it.

Noooo. I'm not sure I like that story. I think the Twilight needs to be safe, but I think a story where Link and Midna end up reuniting would work, somehow. Even if it;s nothing permanent, but they end up sitting together on the ramparts of the Palace of Twilight for an hour, before parting forever would be really touching. Even that would be better then nothing. They're so right for each other, but maybe the fact that they're from two different worlds means that it's impossible for them to be together.

I actually have a good idea for a fancomic now, that I might end up drawing sometime soon with the above scenario.

Re: Do you want to see Midna again?

Honestly, as much as I like Midna, I think she will never come back. In fact, I'm willing to bet that if any guide were to come back, it would be Navi, the most iconic (and despised) guide, just for pure win. I mean, Navi went somewhere! I want her in a sequel to LoZ LA really badly.

I am of the same mind that she was the best guide, but she'll probably never be brought back again but if she is, I really hope that they improve the twilight realm! I wish they would have expanded it in TP!!

Re: Do you want to see Midna again?

As if my signature wasn't enough of a dead giveaway, yes, I'd love to see Midna again. Admittedly, her returning would probably be the biggest dream come true for the gamer in me (new, exciting gameplay mechanics? Forget about that!). Indeed, just finding a way to make the Twili return in a plausible manner is difficult. However, I don't view it as impossible, and I'd like to think that the Zelda team could find a way to make it work.

I don't have much of an argument for why she absolutely needs to return. The way in which her arc ended was, for me personally, the most powerful moment in any video game that I've played. So, I can totally understand why some fans of the character who feel similarly wouldn't want that ruined -- I myself wouldn't. Which is why I'm mostly in favor of the idea of having a different incarnation of Midna -- a la several of the series' most iconic characters -- popping up in a time period distant from the events of Twilight Princess. Additionally, I'd just like to gain more insight on the Twili themselves (or, at the very least, the Dark Interlopers from which they evolved). Even now, they're more fascinating to me than any other race in Zelda lore.

For Nintendo to bring Midna back would be pretty fan-servicey, I know, but I still maintain that there's a way to do it without damaging the "legacy" of her appearance in TP.

Re: Do you want to see Midna again?

At the risk of raining on this Midna love-fest, I am going to be a voice of dissent and say I would rather she not return. I felt the character's arc was finished, and generally I can't say as though I connected or felt compelled very much with her character.
