Most "Epic" Final Battle

Unlike those threads comparing two final boss characters, this thread is all about the battles themselves! This poll/thread only counts final forms/phases. (No Ghost Ship Bellum in PH or Ganondorf battle in OoT or Puppet Ganon in WW.)

Only reason this is in SS Spoilers is because of Demise, derp.

Anyway, I think that Demise's final phase was the most "epic" final battle yet. With the lightning storm and the water below you (don't try this at home, kids!), both having a big role in the battle, and Demise being frustratingly overpowered, and the music being just plain dramatically awesome.... The list goes on!

Honorable mention goes to both Ganondorf in WW and Dark Lord Ganondorf in TP.

This is a really tough choice, but I picked Dark Lord Ganondorf from TP. It was my first final boss battle in Zelda, and Link vs. Ganondorf swordfight is pretty epic. I give honorable mentions to Demise and Majora's Wrath. Majora's Wrath is probably 2nd for me. It was just so surreal in a way. You go up in the moon, then you're in a field. It's beautiful, yet quite creepy and eerie. Then the Fierce Diety mask is just awesome. I almost voted MW.

It has to be Ganon in OoT for me hands down.

OoT is the very first Zelda game I played, and the one that got me into the series. The battle with Ganon in OoT for the first time was just unforgettable. The soundtrack, cutscenes and atmosphere was just... whoa. I didn't feel the same thing from other battles in all the other Zelda games.

Although, Demise in SS was very close. Probably my second favourite final battle of all time in Zelda.

I agree with Eternal Legend. Ocarina of Time's final battle is the most epic to me. Especially the FINAL final part with beast Ganon. The darkness, the music, the atmosphere of that final battle...makes for an epic battle.

Demise's battle was cool, too. The area it takes place looked pretty cool. Doesn't compare to Ocarina's final battle, though. In my opinion.

I voted TP, because I loved the sword fight, and I know we're not s'posed to talk about it, but the horseback bit was a really good set up to it.

SS is a close second, the mood that was created by scenery/visuals/music/etc. was fantastic

I voted for Ganandorf from Wind Waker. Battling this man while the ocean comes crashing down around you is amazing. It's a steller final battle for the greatest video game story ever told

Really tough choice, but it would have to be as Pikminmaniac said.

The set-up to the fight was incredible with the Triforce reunited, and then the King comes in and uses it himself, thus causing the fabled triangles to disappear.

And it's not only the ocean walls crashing down on you as the fight goes on. It's Ganondorf himself who was pretty epic.

Unlike most games that I've seen and played, where fighting the Big Bad and losing will have him gain something out of him, Ganondorf (with Gerudo Valley gone, the land beneath the sea going to disappear for eternity, and the Triforce that he sought after for centuries just disappears in front of him, never to be seen again) has nothing left to lose.

Even if he were to succeed against Link and Zelda, he'll drown beneath the ocean waves. Sure, he didn't transform into a giant monster, but you can tell he was ready to throw his life away if it meant taking you down with him.

And then one of the most epic endings to a video game ever:



It was also my very first Zelda game, and being brought up through an epic journey up to that point was just amazing.

I went with OoT, because, the first time you play through that you THINK that Ganondorf is dead. You think your last hurdle is escaping the castle with Zelda. In your head you just gotta make it outta there. You're so close and then.... *rumble rumble* Ganondorf springs alive, possessed with hatred and the Triforce of Power. With his last bit of strength he transforms into a huge beast, almost mindless with one desire... Kill Link. Then you lose your Master Sword and you have no idea what's going to happen, and... finally the master sword delivers the final blow, a stab straight through his ugly pignose. I think this was the most epic boss battle.

Ganon OoT. The music, the atmosphere, Ganon himself, losing the MS...it's just epic.
