You're right, maybe it did have more lore than other Zelda games (although
ALttP did some incredible things in introducing the whole Triforce and Gods thematics like, uh, 20 years ago?) and I shouldn't have compared it to other Zelda games. But truth is, for what Skyward Sword could have been, it just wasn't enough in its final form.
- Skyloft wasn't fleshed-out enough: practically no NPC was involved in the story except for Groose. The side-quests lacked importance.
- Where's Ghirahim's backstory? Where's Demise's? Their lines were well-written, granted, and Ghirahim had a funny personality, but the little amount I knew about them and the lack of evil deeds wasn't enough to really make them a threat.
- Depth? Where? Groose's character development was nice, granted, but other than that?
Do not mistake these criticisms for bashing. Because despite the bad things, Skyward Sword did many things right - in a great manner.
