My sentiments exactly. To me, they're not really scary, just stressful. The getting caught part. Now, if it takes you a minute and half to get from one tear to another, then something is wrong, lol, but getting caught is what I feared. When I did Lanayru, I cheated and used a YouTube guide (sorry!) and it purposely got caught by the lantern-ghost-guardian things 3 times.....shot my nerves!

YEP! It's not scary, just the thought of having to start over again.....I think I'd probably want to choke someone if I got 7 or 8+ tears and have to start over.

Re: Silent Realms

I wasn't a big fan of them. I actually found them pretty annoying at times. The only one I got on the first pass was the Faron woods one. The worst for me was probably Lanayru.

I hated that every time you failed Fi had to tell you that you failed. Its not that annoying if it happened once. But when you fail like 3 or 4 times(like I did in Lanayru) it got a little unnerving.

Re: Silent Realms

Well.......about to head into the Eldin Silent Realm.....blah.....I hate these things lol.

Side question: A simple yes or no is fine. On the map of the Surface, I just finished the Sand Ship, but it still looks like there is an area in the southern region of Lanayru that should fill in? Looks kind of mountainous or something to the south.....does that area ever feel in or.........?

Re: Silent Realms

^Yes, that area will eventually fill in.

I thought the whole being stripped of all your weapons and items gave a nice variety to the game, but I dreaded all 4 of them cause they are flipping creepy and stressful.

Re: Silent Realms

How do I feel about Silent Realms? Well...

Basically. Hahaha. They were... nerve-wracking. And I was just annoyed to see another vessle, omg. I thought I had seen the last of them in TP. My sister and I groaned when we saw there was a vessle.

Cool. I thought it looked like it ought to, but at the same time wasnt completely positive. Like I said, I just finished the Sandship, so I know I'm getting towards the end of the game, just found it odd that an area in that region is still not filled in yet.

Re: Silent Realms

The reason the silent realms are hard is because you are scared. Try to stay calm and think things through and they will be much easier.

Re: Silent Realms

I thought the silent realms were going to be boring like the tears in TP but I loved that extra sense of danger and time because it added the fear of getting caught into it. I have to admit I love the silent realms and I'm sad that I've finished them all Skyloft one included. WHAT A TWIST!

Re: Silent Realms

OH......MY......GOODNESS. Just finished the Eldin Silent Realm.....absolutely horrendous. I only failed once, but on my second try I was on my way to the final tear and ran right into the glowing light of one of the patrol guards........needless to say, I was an eternity away from the last tear. It was a mad dash to it....both up to it and then again back down to it. (It was on one of the pillars in the middle of one of the slopes....you had to use the sailcloth to be blown to it). Just as I got there, one of the guards was honing in on me...took a swing and JUST missed me.....my heart dropped. LOL! THIS IS WHY I HATE THESE THINGS!

You're closing in on the end, but you've still got a lot more game to play. including a fourth Silent Realm and one awesomely evil final dungeon

And after the main quest takes you through that area you should make time to revisit that area.

Why adding spoiler tags if this specifically is the spoilers section of SS?

Well on topic, it was so cool and relaxed at first, but the music and enviroment when you were being chased was just shocking, breath-taking, just running to save your life until you got a Tear and everything went back to normal.

Those hammering sounds and the guardians after you, and the red skies....

Sweet....so will the game take you back there a third time to fill that area in, or is going back optional? Sorry so many questions, just curious.....and running out of patience because I'm ready to finish the game LOL!

I think I've already answered that question in the post you've quoted,

Quote:

but if you want more spoilers continue reading. . .

You will have to return to Lanayru a third time to collect something you need to access the final dungeon. And you'll need to refill your patience cause there is a lot of stuff still standing between you and the final battle.

Regardless if it is in the Spoiler section, it's courteous to add spoiler tags around certain events near the ending of the game for some people.

Thanks so much, you've been a great help. I admire the way you answer my questions without giving too much away. Looking forward to finishing up and replaying.

Yes they do.

I actually liked the Silent Realms very much. My heart was pounding every time when I was chased by the guardians. I loved how they looked and sounded too. I just wanted to stay there and watch the guardians because the cloaked ones very beautiful. I did like the look of the lantern guardians too but I hated how they would follow you if they heard you and then I would usually run out of stamina gauge and all hell brakes loose. But I did like the Silent Realms. And Zelda Informer had a pretty interesting article about them recently.

Re: Silent Realms

They kind of scared me at times, I had no problems with them until the very last one where I kept getting caught and having to start again which was annoying, in a fun way.

Re: Silent Realms

All of the Silent Realm trials really stressed me out; the last of them was the least stressful because I was familiar with the territory.

;]

I realized at some point that if I turned the volume down a lot, it was much easier to concentrate and get to the "next tear" even if I was being chased. The transition when you're detected can be ... jarring? Hahaha, but I guess that was the point.

Did anyone else felt like trolled when you were in Sky Keep and you had to find the 3 Triforce pieces where you traveled to a spirit world. I was like... OMG you gotta be joking... then I was like... oh... good.
