So, you know that leap move?

Well it doesn't work. I'm hanging on the vines, I do a whipping motion and.... nothign happens. Nothing at all. I just hang on the vines, staring at the tiny gap that Link is unable to traverse.

So what's the big deal you say, why not just find another way round? Well I can't. I'm in the first Silent Realm and one of the tears is on the ledge next to the vines.

If I don't get this working I can't progress in game. I only have the one controller with Wiimotion plus.

There are some gaps you can't jump across while on the vines. You'll learn more about that in the next dungeon.

May I then ask how I'm meant to progress? I really want to continue!

I should also say that I've no longer able to leap on vines or ladders or anything at all. All other motion controls are working fine though :/

Mine would act up too. I'd have to stop, then move slightly an whip at the same time.

I've been trying for a while and just isn't working. SO you need to whip at the exact instant you start moving? How many attempts did it take?

I don't want to give up on this game but it is seriously taking the biscuit!

I tend to whip into the direction I'm trying to go while pressing that direction on the control stick. Have you tried recalibrating, checking the battery life, and all of that? Wiimote controls seem to get less accurate when the batteries are low.

Also, do you have a Wii-Remote Plus, or a Wii-Remote with the Motion Plus add-on?
If it's the latter, maybe it's come a little loose somehow or something...

Anyway, you should be able leap on anything by just waggling the Wiimote while you're moving. That's how I do it anyway...

You need to be moving in the direction you want to go and then just shake the remote however. It's straight up waggle, like they normally assigned the nun-chuck in this game. Punch, swing, stab, shake, it doesn't matter what the motion is. It's like using the jump button while climbing in God of War.

Managed to get it sorted; tried lots of things, including changing the batteries and recalibrating the motion plus.

In the end I moved the sensor bar a bit and shook the wii mote so that it was almost parallel to the screen. Worked first time.

Keep in mind that you can't leap while hanging on a ledge when you encounter an edge. If the orientation of the ledge you're hanging on changes (for example, in Lanayru Desert when you're leaping to get to the color wheel near the entrance), you can't leap across those edges. You can only leap if you're climbing along a straight line.

Not sure if that explanation makes any sense. It took me awhile to figure this stuff out.
