Was Twilight Princess anyone here's first Zelda game?

Furthermore, were any of you wee kiddos when you played it? I mean, like, eleven and under

I first played Ocarina of Time when I was nine years old and it blew me away. I always wondered if there was anyone had a similar experience but with the newer generation of Zelda games

Re: Was Twilight Princess anyone here's first Zelda game?

I was 15 when I got Twilight Princess.

I never played Ocarina then because I had a PS1 and not an N64 when I was younger.

I did like TP so much I did go on to play Ocarina and the other Zelda games.

Playing most the Zelda games in the same year of my life makes me less biased and a little more objective in my view of the games.

Re: Was Twilight Princess anyone here's first Zelda game?

WW was my first Zelda game, but I would have been 11 in 2007 (I think that's when TP came out?), but I wasn't blown away by the game. I had already beaten WW then OoT, but when I played TP I didn't like the whole wolf/twilight realm thing it had going for it, so I never finished it. I guess as a kid, what I liked about WW and OoT was the ability to kind of explore and do whatever I wanted. In TP, I thought of the wolf aspect and the linearity of it as holding me back from just running around in the world. So no, I wasn't blown away by it. Although I have to say, the graphics from TP are now my favorite of the series.

I hope to play and finish the game after I beat SS, maybe I'll appreciate it more.

Oh ya, I was a wee laddie when I first eyed Twilight Princess, however that was not my first venture into the realm of Hyrule. I had taken a gander to The Wind Waker years prior, even though my age and experience with that there game when playing it would make a Demoman cry.

It wasn't the first Zelda game I played but it was the first 3-D Zelda for me.

Re: Was Twilight Princess anyone here's first Zelda game?

Certainly not. I've been enjoying this series since the beginning, playing the original game on NES. Though truth be told I didn't fall in love with the series until Link's Wakening, which was the second Zelda game I played. You can imagine how much of an improvement it was playing LA after LoZ. My mind was blown.

Re: Was Twilight Princess anyone here's first Zelda game?

The actual first Zelda game made was my first game, when it was put in the collector's edition of Zelda for the Gamecube, but when i got TP i was really into it. I think i really liked the fact of how Link turned into a wolf and the graphics were very good, compared to like OoT and MM (of course they were great games)

yep it was

Yes it was my first zelda game. Played it mostly out of curiosity, at the age of 12 and instantly fell in love with it. And gradually started playing more in the series.

First Zelda!

Man, there are some really lovely moments in the game; I absolutely love it. The dungeons are expecially fun.

(... Still haven't finished it, though. Because SS is hogging all my time.) ;D

Re: Was Twilight Princess anyone here's first Zelda game?

In fact, Twilight Princess was my first Zelda. I played it in the... spring? of 2009, having just got a Wii. A friend had got the game some months earlier (i.e. for Christmas) and completed it; some parts I had seen him play and it had me interested. Then he borrowed me the game.

I had heard about Zelda, not a lot, but something anyway. TP showed me what the series actually was. The beginning of the game was really boring, but with the first dungeon, the game got rolling, and with the second dungeon, I was seriously into it. TP pulled me into the Zelda series, as later I opted to get the original with that "free NES game for those who bought the Internet Channel" offer and last fall I bought Ocarina of Time on the Virtual Console. It was Ocarina that really made me a Zelda fan, though.

Nonetheless, yes, TP blew me away and introduced me to Zelda. So it's a similar experience, although I was, what, 14? I remember so little of that game nowadays, though. I should probably buy it and play through it again sometime.

Re: Was Twilight Princess anyone here's first Zelda game?

TP was the 1st Zelda game I ever owned. I played a little bit of Wing Waker at a friends house before. Until SS came out, TP was my favorite Zelda game.
