I appreciate you doing this for me. It would suck to have to start all the way over. I mean its one thing to play through hero mode. But to start from scratch would suck

Question: Can you get back into the Silent Realms after having completing them all? Because I failed Din's Silent Realm three or four times, I was able to get enough Dusk Relics for all of the upgrades. But for the upcoming Hero Mode's sake, will I need to make sure I have enough Dusk Relics before finishing the Silent Realms?

I do believe that Silent Realms can only be entered once. However, if you do not get enough Dusk Relics, more can always be bought from the Moonlight Merchant.

Choose file 1. Or you choose file 2 if you want to start on Hero Mode just after the second temple.

Once you have the part of the 'song of the hero' from the Dragon Lanaryu, you can play one of two mini-games he suggests to you for your leisurely usage..
Boss runs and Silent Realm runs.
I'm pretty confident that you can find dusk relics in those 'revisits'

Also, can somebody tell me how to get the Chest dowsing option?

i am stuck getting the Hero Song, and there seems to be nothing i can do to move forward

my guess is that, like at the flooded woods, my Volcano and Mining entrance would be scripted, but ... no. here is the recap :


- did the Levias battle in Thunderhead

decided to follow the same order that the areas were presented, so i next went to Faron Woods ( which were sealed, and i needed to be catapulted in )

- did the third Imprisoned battle
- catapulted into Faron Woods
- did the Faron Woods note hunt (and the water was drained)
- did the Owlan side quest


but i can still pick the Volcano area to land at, as well as at the Mining location

i've searched the all volcano areas but can find no hint of a volcano dragon

what did i miss ??? how do i trigger the next step ???

FYI, i tried the Nintendo store fix in case this was related to the known Hero Song bug, no luck

Your best luck would to download on of the many saves that start right before the Song of Hero quest.

...hmm. That's odd indeed. So you didn't see the volcano erupt at all? When I played through this section it immediately worked.

What else did you do apart from those steps? When you were in Lanayru, did you talk to Golo?

eruption ? now we're talking ! without spoilers, you have confirmed my suspicion that something dramatic should have happened

i've googled Golo, but his location in Lanaryu is not specified. i did talk to the Goron in the southern tunnel area leading to the Harbor and Sand ship. if memory serves, he gave me the key to the locked door. is this Golo ?

Yep, that's Golo the Goron. Usually the glitch activates if you talk to him again after obtaining the thunder dragon's part, but if you haven't already done that, I'm not sure why this glitch is still occurring - maybe simply talking to him more than once is enough?

At any rate, it sounds as though using one of those save files that cloneofshadow linked to may be your best bet at this point.

i've talked to Golo at least twice -- passing through his area at some point, after the Sand ship was finished, he stopped me and forced a conversation. so far i have only gotten the Water Dragon's song fragment, so this ( according to the Nintendo report ) can't be the same problem as the known Hero Song issue

the Mining area is open ( Golo has finished opening the passage ) and going there may be my only choice to proceed. since i've not dome anything "wrong" i see no reason for me to finish someone else's game

Nintendo has really made a splash with this "25 th anniversary special"

I think it has something to do with the Owlan sidequest. Did you completely finish it? Did you try to talk to Oolo or Owlan after?

Well, I guess if you don't want to use someone else's save file, your only option is to try and get that thunder dragon part, and then return to the volcano (without talking to the goron again) to see if the cutscene triggers - although it really should have happened already (and the glitch should have been fixed if you downloaded the patch online).

Nintendo do seem to be a bit rusty now when it comes to coding non-linear gameplay in Zelda...I don't think it's a coincidence that this big glitch has happened in the only major part of SS that isn't strictly linear.

@The PepsiLady -- i think it was completed. i've spoken to both Owlan and the plant guy ( can't think of his name or what those cute little guys are called ) a couple of times ( always checking to see what someone might say ) and i got five gratitude crystals

@Astrael -- you make an interesting point about non-linearity being the crux of the problem. there are so many software solutions to track what has, and has not, been done ... sometimes i think they had *way* too many people working on this program. for example ( i have an eye for annoying details ), one can never be sure if the camera view will swing when Link passes through any given door ... when you want to move your character the instant control returns to you, predicting that kind of behavioral detail is important

Ok, I have a small (yet irritating problem). I have 79 Gratitude Crystals and no more dowsing options . I finished all the SQs for them in Skyloft and Lumpy Pumpkin, also collected all the stray crystals in both places and in Beetle's island. What the hell am I missing?!?

You only have one more crystal left, which is most likely a stray crystal. Are you SURE you've checked all of Skyloft, Lumpy Pumpkin and Beetle's Island? Have you also tried looking inside of houses?

What about Zelda's room, have you tried looking there?

No more dowsing signals in Skyloft, Lumpy Pumkin, or Beetle's place. I already got the ones in Zelda's room (inside closet), Orielle's house, Link's room, Sparring Hall, and I'm 99% sure I finished all the SQs (the only potential mishaps could be getting inside the bath with Gaepora inside, which I'm still unable to do, and if there might be a way in making Pippit's mom see the error in her ways, this one I'm pretty sure in not possible).

Got two of them at the LP and one at Beetle's. As I said, There are no more dowsing signals.

Starting from your first trek around Faron Woods, there are five kikwi that live there: Machi, Oolo, Erla, Lopsa and the elder Bucha.

After the woods is no longer flooded a sidequest opens up that allows you to bring the kikwi Oolo to Skyloft.

Upon looking around Faron Woods again, since I adore the kikwi so, and since completing the aforementioned sidequest, I've been unable to locate the kikwi known as Erla.

I'm curious as to whether someone else found the kikwi, or if it just vanished.

One of the Kikwi's disappear? I thought they clustered together in some area within the forest. I never really noticed if one of them was missing.

I think one of them likes to hang out alone somewhere else though. I can't exactly remember it much.
