What's that structure in the background? It begins to glow at around 1:31.
Does gears above it looks like Twili marks o_o

Also the old woman has the same bracelet that Zelda wears in her white costume.

A sage medallion can be seen to the right of her face. That scene of the mysterious character protecting Zelda is epic. The whole trailer was absolutely amazing.

You could even consider that as a form of time travel (which does seem to happen a lot around the Master Sword)
To add to what you said, there may be a reason why Link in Ocarina of Time had to be locked away for seven years when he obtained the Master Sword. Link in Skyward Sword is said to be the oldest of all the Links, so maybe the Master Sword can only be wielded by a hero who is at a ripe age to use it, as in, mature enough.

The post I posted about the medallion in one of the pictures in reference to the OP is actually not a medallion, but the Zora's Saphhire from Ocarina of Time. We might get some lore in Skyward Sword about how the spiritual stones were made and why they were used other than just to gain entry to the Master Sword's chamber in the Temple of Time and Sacred Realm in Ocarina of Time.

In the trailer, at 1:05, Link: "I gotta' catch 'em all". A Gyarados appears!

The gear connected to that big plate looks like Twili Marks

Old woman is probably connected with time, also one of her bracelets is the same as the one Zelda wears in the white dress.

Re: Gametrailers Zelda Coverage

I really want to see Volvagia in this game (honestly, who would be a cooler returning boss in that, plus there is potential to tie it in with OoT), but I'm almost positive that the serpent like being in that trailer is NOT Volvagia. Much more likely to be Eldin.

There is still some hope, though. Maybe that's why they chose not to reveal the identity of the boss of the Fire Sanctuary. We even see the ominous swirl around Eldin Volcano/Death Mountain that was associated with Volvagia in OoT. However, the Volvagia plot involves Gorons, not Mogmas, so I'm not to optimistic about it.

Is it just me or it's the best trailer they've released?
It completely boosted my hype.

Re: Gametrailers Zelda Coverage

Ok, crazy theory here...

What if this person...

Is also this person.

As mentioned before, the first scene appears to take place in the ToT and the scene with the old Sheikah lady also appears to take place in the ToT (but more like the one seen in TP). At the start of the video when Sheikah girl walks through the golden light I think it takes her and Link to the TP-like ToT where we see the old Sheikah lady (Sheikah Girl) waiting. Basically, the old Sheikah is Sheikah Girl's true form, she's just gone to the past from a request from the Goddesses, to save Zelda or whatever.

Old Sheikah and Sheikah Girl have quite a few similarities in appearance. Most noticeably, they both have a long pony tail. This may not seem like much, but they both have a red band tying up their pony tails. I can't really say much about Old Sheikah's pendulum pony tail apart from pendulums are to do with time and she may be able to travel through time.

And do the black and gold clothes that the old Sheikah is wearing look familiar to anyone else?

The dark blue and gold Old Sheikah is wearing over her black and gold also looks very similar to the top and trousers we see Sheikah Girl wearing. You can also see a cream coloured tear symbol below her eyes just like with Sheikah Girl.

As pointed out by Crazyfreak, the Old Sheikah is wearing the same bracelet that Zelda is wearing when she's in her white gown. Maybe Sheikah Girl gave it to her in the main timeline, but we see it with her in Old Sheikah's real timeline. If this whole time travelling Sheikah stuff is true, I can already see that this will be a ♥♥♥♥♥ for anything concerning the timeline...

We've seen time travel before in the ToT with OoT and TP. The OoT ToT is kind of irrelevant here, but the TP ToT brings up some interesting points. In TP, Link walks through the door to the ToT and it takes us back to the ToT when it was in better condition (the one we see at the start of the trailer maybe?) and then in SS we (kind of) see Link walk through the door/golden light which takes him to the ToT much like the one seen at the present day of TP. Maybe the door can only travel Link from these two different points in time?

Sorry it's so long, but I really think I'm on to something. Has anybody noticed any other connections between Old Sheikah, Sheikah Girl, and both of the ToTs in SS and TP?

TL;DR - Sheikah Girl and the old lady in the trailer are the same freaking person, OMFG!! Well maybe...

Wow, I didn't realise how fun speculating future plot details is

^That's some good thinking, even if you turn out not to be right. I like the old lady's pendulum hair. Very clever.

My god, this deserves to be called epic...

The shrine-type ruins with the old lady are without a doubt the future Temple of Time.

The fight between the Sheikah and Ghirahim looks amazing!

Re: Gametrailers Zelda Coverage

I have a good theory that might solve the confusion about this version of Sheikah relation to ones that we seen before like impa and sheik.
OK their 2 tier of the Sheikah race depending on their relation to their race bloodline:
Tier 1: Pure blooded s\Sheikah.

Characteristics:
golden hair
brownish skin
Role: protectors of the future princess Zelda and Probaly the closes to her grace Hylia, protector of the triforce (Ooccoos are the closes to the golden goddesses who lefted hyrule and left Hylia as the protector of the triforce which the sheikah got inspiration because of her courage and wisedom against ghirahim tribe during the first hylia war).
Tier 2: Half blooded Sheikah.

Diffrence from tier 1:
skin colour
grayish hair (I think)
half hylian
Role: nearly became extinct after the final war against ghirahim and his master, impa was technically the final desendent of the sheikah tribe, after her death in both timelines she was graved in the kakaraiko graveyard and honored as warrior and the founder of modern kakariko village.
Enjoy my theory.

Re: Gametrailers Zelda Coverage

Remember that the Sheikah is actually an older character from a zelda game, so it's eithet Impa or the real Sheik. What if her name is Sheik and she's the very first if the tribe Sheikah's? Would make sense why the tribe is named after her. But i'm still hoping it is Impa!

I'll post a thread version of this theory and expand on concept like the hylia wars, how the sheikah related to Hylia, expand on Hylia in these war and why she was chosen to protect the triforce against ghirahim tribe.

Re: Gametrailers Zelda Coverage

It looks like all these "time crystals" are placed in the Lanayru desert region. I bet they will make most of the wasteland green and vivid as we see it in the Lanayru province in Twilight Rrincess. Then only a small portion of the wasteland is left, making the Gerudo Desert.

Also, I think someone mentioned it before, but did anyone notice the big stone rising behind Link when in the temple with the old lady? It looked a lot like the stone used in Arbiter's Grounds.

If that fire dragon turns out to be Volvagia, I'm going to ♥♥♥♥ my pants. It would be so frickin' awesome! However, it most probably is Eldin..

I really think the Fire Dragon is Volvagia, that could very well be the reason they won't show us the boss of the Fire Sanctuary, while we've seen all of the other bosses when their dungeons were revealed.

Why can't the old woman just be another Sheikah? I think you're overthinking this. There's been talk about another "old woman" in a cave near Faron Woods, so there are at least some Sheikah in other places.

Because there's no fun in just saying "It's just some old lady"... If that's your way of thinking we might as well get rid of the whole of the Theorizing section and half of Future Zelda :l

Oh, here's a newish video...

I wonder when the stealth section takes place. You can see that Link already has the double clawshots and it seemed like we were getting them in the second desert dungeon.

And does Fi look a bit burnt to anyone else in the video?

Hmm... Not sure if someone has pinpointed this out before.

But has anyone else realised this?

Similar-looking areas, different game.

There's a large "tree" in both the backgrounds and a bridge that leads to it. However, both the games are generations apart when it comes to the timeline.

What do you think?

Yeah. Look at the architecture of the bridge compared to the architecture of the SS screenshot! I think you might've just found an important similarity. I always wondered what the tree thing in TP was for.
