So after playing the game for 5 days I clocked about 15 hours already.

The game so far is great. Sometimes I find combat to be a pain in the but, but I'm more so getting use to it by now.

I'm at the part where I need to find an ancient flower to restore the machine at the scrap shop, in order to find the wheel that will rotate the windmill facing the Light Tower. I'm roaming the desert and have no clue where to find any of the ancient flowers... Do I need to find them in the past or present (using the time shift crystals)?

Anyone else notice that if you pour water on a gossip stone it shrinks down and disappears?

I noticed that placing a bomb near them is a nice call back.

Haven't tried that yet. It shrinks if you use the Gust Bellow on it.

If you get up close to the side or rear of any bird statue there is a weird looking clown image. It kind of looks like an old-school Mario or something.

Holy crap! Getting the Hylian Shield was so hard!

Why's it called the Hylian shield when Hyrule apparently doesn't exist yet?

Unless the word Hylian isn't derived from the world Hyrule, and is instead the other way around?

Or was the surface civilization pre-Skyloft known as Hyrule as well or something?

It was probably known as Hyrule before, and is named after Hylia. I mean, the Thunder Dragon was probably around when it was called Hyrule, and he got that shield during that time.

But that's just my guess.

I didn't even make the Hylia > Hyrule/Hylian connection. Just Hylia > Lake Hylia.
I feel really stupid now.

Hylian =/= Hyrulean.

Whoa, TP had a higher MetaCritic MetaScore than this game.

Then again, TP had more reviews.

Guys, look at the column on the far right- the Hylian bird symbol is a representation of Hylia's body!

I always thought the Hylian bird symbol was just a loftwing.

Sorry that this is off topic, but does anyone have a pic of one of those Skyloft knights that always comes and saves Link when you falls off Skyloft instead of properly diving? Thanks and sorry again for the random question.

Maybe Hyrule was named after the goddess Hylia.

I've got a very strong feeling that Skyward Sword won't be the first Zelda game in the timeline for very long...
